Anyone know how to make a land unit like a tank hover over the terrain and map features similar to a gunship?

I can't seem to get the unit off the ground with different combos in the Civ4ArtDefines_Unit file and I'm not sure what to change in the NIF or KFM file using Nifskope.

Thanks.

-> so just open it, rightclick on the model, and there has to be something like "transform", where you'll get a menue with the axis.

But it could be, that the animations interfere with your changes, and will just "push" your unit back to the ground.

I increased the Y value using transform/edit/translation in NifSkope but the unit still sits on the ground. I will look into the animation file to see if I can adjust the Y value there as well. Thanks

Tried increasing Z value, same result, the unit still sits on the ground. I have no idea how to edit or change the animations if that is what is forcing the unit back to the ground.

I thought about following the tutorial on merging animations by merging the gunship animations into the ground unit, but I don't know if that will work for this. It’s one thing to give a worker a gun and another to make a tank levitate.

Its not the animation. You have to alter and save all the nifs. Open the nif with nifscope. Select scene root. Find the XYZ coordinates line. Type in a different value for Z. Click off somewhere and watch the model go higher. Then save the nif file AS itself. You have to do this for all nif files for the unit, including the FX if any. But not kf--the ones that don't show a model when you open in nifscope.

How do you give workers guns?
