Manchus for VP

good civ overall, imo an underrated challenge playing this is the unit supply constraint. getting a city could easily get you 3-5 supplies over your limit, and even post-war you have to decide which units you want to keep to get the most out of banners.
one time I found myself in an era-long siege against a city on the other side of a river. I was losing too much against shoshone's iron defense and decided to desperately rush said city. barely broke the siege and got his entire frontlines, which opened the gates for eventual capitulation.

interesting interaction with the Hex Conquer mod:
with said mod conquered cities only get the tiles immediately around them, with the rest left in enemy control. however all enemies within a 3 tile range, regardless of which city claimed it, seem to still be converted, provided their tiles don't fall under another enemy city's 3-tile radius. enemy units within 3 tiles of another enemy city still remain theirs though.
a sizable nerf for sure, but not bad enough to neuter the UA.

Just converted 2 roman ballistas. They kept all their promotions, including the extra movement. But they also got the 8 banners promotion, despite being siege units. Intended?
