I am in the middle of a Diety game in PTW and have recently taken over the Manhatten project. The civs remaining are me, a 2 city civ, and an ultra powerful beast civ. The ultra powerful civ is 5 techs ahead of me, and I won't catch up. Since we are in the Modern Ages, that civ has nukes. (And used them a lot when they were at war w/ 2 city civ)

Since I doubt I can get nukes, and the AI will double my nuke output anyways,
my question is:

If I abandon the city with the Manhatten Project will

A) Nothing happens-the civ still builds nukes.
B) All nukes are gone and no more nukes can be built
C) Nukes remain but no more can be built

Thanks!

Answer is (A) .... The Manhattan Project enables everyone to build nukes .... it desnt matter if you junk it.

If you can locate all the UR that they have and can cut it off, they cannot build additional nukes. Any builds already started can be completed.

Thanks Nergal, that's what I wanted to know.

I'm thinking of building this wonder.
What do nukes do??
And the other civs still need the tech to build nukes right? Right?!

Hmm...

Doesn't nukes kill ALL military units in the target town? If so, first strike with ICBMs should work, at least until they got Integrated Defence.

I must add that I do not know this for a fact.

Actually, a nuke only kills about half of the defenders, and damages the rest. If theres's a bunch, some will survive. What is good about nukes is they scour all terrain improvements in a nine tile square. Nuking a city of the AI is nearly cripplig to that city, as the AI's rarely build many workers. A human player with dozens or hundreds of workers can recover much faster. If you do a preemptive strike, go for your opponents Uranium and Aluminum supplies, so they can't build their own nukes. If they have some already started, you may face retaliation. The one thing about using nukes, it will cause everyone not Gracious or not allied to you to declare war on you. Nukes also add to global warming, so beware of going hog wild with them.

BUt its fun .... I do like a nice orange landscape clear of improvements that dont get in the way of my modern armour ....

Why? Because we can.
You know what. I've never dropped a nuke in CivIII so, so I guess I'll whack some capitol to the shmizereezes.

I'm from the Uk, playing against England was fun, me and my mate picking places to nuke because we had excess nukes and just didnt like the place in RL .....

Yeah ICBM's are great I was playing as the Mongols one game...and like stockpiled 50 ICBMS just waiting on a civ to declare war on me...and when they did....lets just say...nobody had a city above like 3 when I got done.

Ah... you left some people live to tell the tale.
Good thing.
