Is there a map that shows exactly what groups of terrain are considered 'continents' in RaFC? I notice for certain wonders it doesn't extend as far as I thought it would (Great Wall, Statue of Liberty)

North and South America are their own continents, Europe stops at the Urals and Istanbul, Africa stops at Suez.

If I remember correctly, every Island is its own continent so there are a lot of continents ;)

Africa I'd like to see as it seems to be split into 3 sections at least, Asia as well. Europe seems pretty clear cut, kinda sad when the Three Gorges didn't provide power to England but w/e.

The African continent has a dynamic continental divide; it changes as eras change. North Africa is sometimes part of Africa and sometimes part of Asia; this is to encourage Arabia to lead a land invasion, because if it thinks Egypt is on a different continent to its capital, it is reluctant to invade. A similar thing happens to Constantinople. It's in Europe until the Turks spawn in Asia Minor, then it switches to Asia.

Would this, say, discourage Mongolia from attacking Europe? Because I'm having a hard time getting them to do just that...

In that is the case, them maybe I should make Europe a part of Asia for a number of turns? (I'm modding heavily as is.)

edit: Also, would this explain why spawned Mongol units (in Europe) simply disappear after a few turns? I tried enabling the AI can't disband units option on GlobalDefines.

Is Siberia counted as Europe or its own continent? I just built Statue of Liberty in China and am not getting free specialists in cities I own up there?

Also Mongols are big disappointment, less of a non-factor in most my games than Maya. Anything to fix that would be cool.

I've pretty much finished a scenario which focuses on Russia and makes the Mongols unplayable. The Mongols make their presence known shortly but fundamentally, as in history. They are more or less reduced to an "event".

Play test will commence in the modmod forum shortly.

This post contains a downloadable version of the atlas (slightly out of date now) which also includes a shape file called "continents.png". The thread in which this post was included also contains a post from Rhye where he posted the code which is used in the game to define the continental boundaries.

As mentioned earlier by Burnemdown, the continental boundaries are dynamic in two areas: North Africa and Constantinople. These changes were noted in the changelog, but are not reflected in the continents.png file that I have linked to above.
