The problem is, this country is very small in terms of population. I already argued Porirua and Manukau are not proper cities but part of greater metropolis regions.
You can't say Porirua is more important than the Hutts - or Manukau is more important than North Shore City simply because the Hutts are a massive tourism area and North Shore is one of the largest commercial areas.

Taupo's population breaks 50,000 consistently during the peak seasons and being the host for so many sporting events, it should be an important city (economically, it is up there with Rotorua).

Blenheim, like I argued is the spot for the ferry terminus and is one of the most important hubs in the Malborough region.

I've been working through the list this weekend to verify it, I've gotten through the first block and am willing to verify it. I am also willing to verify block 2 and 3 on faith until I can get enough time to work through those ones as well.

Prince Albert Saskatchewan, due to importance. 40,000 people approximately, however, it is the northernmost city in saskatchewan, and nearby (small electoral district) there are over 70,000, and another 60,000 farther up north who are dependent on prince albert.

Northern saskatchewan's population is 64,416 (same site, different riding), and as the site Prince Albert is the service centre for northern saskatchewan.

The list of Canadian cities in looks good to me. I accept the removal of everything Canadian North of Sixty, although there are over 100 000 of us (very spread out, as you know). And yeah, Prince Albert is a relatively important city for the reasons j_eps mentioned, though if you're going to be strict about population, I advise leaving it out.

you forget, I'm Canadian, so my sense of space and what is SMALL (especially for a city) is just a little skewed. The GTA is 7,125 km², with over 5 million people. Thats a small area, with tons of people. Yukon's population of 31,500 and area of 482,443 km² is big and empty. Nunavut, with 29,474 people, is the size of Western Europe (2,093,190 km²), and is completely empty. (I COULD, if that were my goal, say Rankin Inlet should be included because nothing else is there)

However, actually, going through it, with the exception of PA, everything there looks good, and so I j_eps approve the cities of Canada in Post #148

Alright, after putting it off for a while, I finally got around to tackling Brazil once more. Listed below are the 296 largest cities in Brazil, excluding a few suburbs here and there. My main problam is that the last city listed is only down to 73,000, and I can't find a site listing any cities lower than that number. If someone can point me towards one, I'll finish up Brazil. Anyone looking over these cities over should check out page three where they're broken up into five sections.

Hey! As the only one other than you to tackle a big 5, I think I did a good job

. Finishing Brazil, then hitting Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, not to mention a few others.

Edit: Symph, that list includes every single suburb and location within a metro

. So, if someone wishes, they can add them in but I'm not. Sorry. But I did add in the remaining cities up to 50k.

EDIT: I have to add in another 100-150 ciites. Therefore, I'll have to finish it tomorrow. I'll do those two I mentioned then I'm done for the night.
