Marshes

Never seen a marsh clear to floodplains, it ends up being grass. The mined fish on a grass tile is a famous SOTD (Screenshot of the day).

Every time I convert marshes, I get grassland, so it might be a problem in the Civilopedia. I have gotten a few fish in marsh legitimately, compared to placing them there. I will see if I have a screenshot of one, or if I can get one. I have at least one somewhere in my saved games.

The only time I remember I got a fish in marsh was also the only time I was playing a map with a low water percentage (60%). That could be coincidence, but it could also be there's more chance to get a fish in marsh when there's simply less water on a map.

Game and fish appear in marshes. When cleared, the marsh becomes a grassland, but if left with pollution, it becomes coast. Look in the editor, it's all there.

The civilopedia says fish can appear in marshes, and also says that marshes can be cleared to create flood plains. Is that true? I've never seen either in all the years I've been playing C3C. Does anyone have a saved game with any of those?

Start up conquest scenario 'Rise of Rome' as Rome and march one of your legions eastwards after leaving what-is-today-Italy and you'll see a fish in a marsh. Probably Hungary or Austria...

I've seen it a few times in epic games too.

Here's one in the WWII scenario:

Now that's even more strange! You mean by pollution like, the original vegetation? Or maybe pollution :nuke: fom volcanoes and factories?
And scenarios have fixed tiles, so maybe fish was put there on purpose. I have yet to see it in a standard game.

I think I have, I remember joking with my friend about it (who I was playing with) that it looked like a giant bananna. I meant pollution like, the radioactive puke looking orange stuff.

I can't find it, and I havent seen one of those cities on that conquest. Diffrent type or version?

Open it in the editor (9 WWII in the Pacific), press Ctrl-Shift-G (for coordinates), then look for the tile that says (10, 58). That's the one.;)
