Maximum map size

It was about 215 x 115 a few months ago, but then that size
became unstable after a patch.
Currently, 200x100 works beautifully with Gedemon's Terra maps
and makes for a terrific game with 33 civs and 28 city-states.

Only 28 CS? I started a game last night on a Ludicrous map with 10 Civs and 30 CS set to appear. Not very far into it yet, but it loaded without problem. Only think I noticed so far is the absence of the new R&F resources. But that might be because I am so early in the game yet.
As an aside..... Kudos to @Gedemon for a wonderful map pack and for getting the hot fix for R&F out so quickly. Its the only mod I have used so far because I just love looooong games on biiiiig maps.

The limit seems to be a total of 61: civs + C-S +1 for barbs.
Same here. I was getting bored with the true TSL maps. I love the
exploration in the Terra maps because there is always the expectation
of finding brilliant places to build a city, and the apprehension of
wandering into an aggressive trap far from home.
Okay, I see now. One day I will get brave and try going up against everyone at once. In such a case, I suppose one should expect quite the bloodbath.
