Not sure if this is a bug or not, but I was under the impression that Mechanos could build refineries on any mana type, not just raw mana nodes. In my recent game I had locked modified assets and such to make it more challenging, a while later at around turn 150 I'm getting ready to drop down some refineries only to discover that I left Wild Mana on, and I can't actually access any of the mana nodes in my sight, with no way to fix it.

Then the Kuriotates hit me with 30 or so Centaurs. Needless to say I was slaughtered.

Anyhoo, main question; is this a bug or is it intended for Mechanos to stink on Wild Mana maps? Do Techpriests get Dispel or something? Even if they do, that's a hell of an upgrade path just to get access to something I could have just turned a menu option off for.

Edit: While I'm at it, why do their warriors start out with only 2/3 :strength: instead of a flat 3 :strength: before Bronze Weapons are applied?

Techpriests and Adeptus gain Dispel with one of the mana techs (Divination). It's easy to get. All 4 mana techs unlock abilities for them.

Their warriors gain a promotion reducing attack strength by 1 to keep the early, free, bronze from being too strong. It goes away when they're upgraded.

Ah, cool. Is there an indication in the Civilopedia about them getting these new abilities that I missed? I was just ignoring the mana techs as I figured they would be useless.

Not an obvious one, not currently. Can view all of the spells by checking the Divine promotion, shows 'Can cast X with Ordo Machinarum religion'.
