Dear citizens of NoneOfTheAbove, dear Yasutanians,

Our ancestors have built a civilization of farmers and horseriders. They have worked hard, very hard, to set up a developped, safe place to live for us. This is an incredible achievement. But the time has come for us to achieve even more. Our wisest scientists and soothsayers have thought of an enormous structure that will make us prosper. It consists of numerous impressive stones, and will have many benefits for our nation. It will allow us to measure the years with more precision, it will be an ideal place to host religious festivities that will not just improve our image, it will improve the :culture: of all Yasutania. And it will inspire our populace to involve in the religion, and will without doubt lead to Great People rising from our city.

The great prophet from Stonehenge can be used for the Confucian Shrine, or for lightbulbing Civil Service. And building Stonehenge will only cost us 8 (!) turns.

Other AI's have been able to build Stonehenge for quite some time, I think we'd be better off going for the oracle, which we'll be able to start as soon as priesthood finishes in 1 turn.

I think the oracle will be more useful because alongside the :culture: and :gp: bonuses we'll also have a free technology. Plus it is less likely that the AI will beat us to this wonder. I agree in principle that NOTA should produce one of these wonders.

At Prince level the AI's delay building wonders a lot. Also stonehenge isn't one of the wonders they go after right away. I think we can get it done, especially since it's only 8 turns, what much do we have to lose? Even if we lose it we still get some cold hard cash.

Ice makes a good point.

Though I would like to make sure we give Oracle a go... I think NotA is probobly the best candidate for the Oracle as well...

Though I don't have the save infront of me... Equus Aurum might also be just as effective as well...

Also, Oracle should be available for in 1 turn

I build both the oracle and stonehenge all the time on Prince. It's rather easy. Also stonhenge really helps us buffer out other civs and gives us a hold on land. Many a time the Stonehenge has even helped me flipped foreign cities. I play Prince a lot with ease, and I truely think we can acquire both.

Go for it, if we fail we get :gold: which will enable us to boast :science: by over-spending science costs.

I think it's too late to try for either of these - I suspect the AI is busy building both.

If we do decide to go after one of these I suggest we chop a few forests and agree it should be built in NoneOfTheAbove.

So, what will we do?

Stonehenge/Oracle or neither?

First Stonehenge, then The Oracle.

I'm going to go with stonehenge then oracle. I strongly feel we can get both done, and even if we miss stonehenge, we get some nice cash for science.

Yes go for stonehenge and then oracle

If this goes to a vote I'd definitely say oracle only, if we loose stonehenge it won't just be a cash bonus there will also be the lost turns we could have been building the oracle, it would make it more likely for us to loose both wonders.

Maybe but at least we will be rich in having tried!!!!

I'd say Oracle first (BTW we won't need to research CoL in that case), and if the henge isn't built by the time Oracle is finished, we'll see again.

I like Stonehenge as it'll grant a +1 :culture: to all our cities, allowing faster border expansion. The thing is if I'm remembering correctly, only Cities #3 & #4 would benefit. Doesn't City #3 have a lib in the queue? If so, it makes Stonehenge even less helpful.

Having said that, I'd go with Oracle first.

Let's poll this guys, I think every option has it's fair share of support.

All cities except the capital would benefit in reaching the 100 level: 3 for library plus stonehenge is better that just 2 for the library. That's 30 turns instead of 45 to get from 10 to 100 and another pop. Stonehenge will also help for cities we capture and getting that culture out helps slow counter-attacks.

Don't forget the bonus we get for great people to appear by building wonders.
