Played civ for nearly 10 years now, havn`t really had a chance to make a fair judgement of Civ 5 yet, reason the damned game freezes up on me quite a bit !! What is it with the gaming industry these days, can they not make a game that is complete or at least playable ? i guess its all to do with money but i don`t want o be a beta tester and pay £30 pound for it. Come on Firaxis give us a date when Civ 5 will be playable, until then i`m ditching Civ 5, really expected more from you.

What spec computer are you running it on? There's lots of posts on here about people running it on basic spec machines. It's running on my barely minimum spec MacBook with no crashes ...

4 hours to install ?even with the physical disc! Still waiting to play? WTH!!
Steam -nothing fast about that should be called sludge.
This will be the last game I purchase.

Geforce 8800gtx, quad core intel pentium processor 2.40 ghz and 4 gig Ram..more than recommended specs and fairly capable of handling most modern day games id say.

Sweet! Twins!!!

Well except I have the 8800gt.

No problems so far with it on my system.

That being said, you do know that this is a fan site and had no connection at all with the Civ 5 Devs, don't you?

Hey, beats Civ 4 release ... on install, that game was a black screen with music in the background until the first patch.

Welcome to PC Gaming. If you want something that will definitely work for what you have go with console gaming. Otherwise, get used to the fact that developers are making games for a huge variety of systems, and sometimes the first release isn't going to play perfectly on all combinations. In the meantime, make sure your system is up to spec, that the drivers have been updated, etc.

Also ... four hours to install? I had mine up and running in the time it took for me to brew a pot of coffee.

Yeah, same here. From the DVD it was a matter of maybe 10 minutes.

I'd say something's amiss if you're taking 4 hours for a DVD installation.
