Merging Super Forts

I have not built all the new claim resource plot improvements yet, ie the ones that claim the plot with the resource that is outside your border. I have only done preindustrial stony resources (stone, marble, salt, clay and obsidian) ie those that upgrade to quarry.

The other problem is that we have lost the ability to built two plot canals with this merge.

Another problem that may be causing a bit of the slowdown to the BUG options being displayed is the page that allows you to say what can be built near a city. Also it has all improvements even though some aren't built by workers. The title says worker improvements.

@koshling I have seen barbarians build the supper forts but not get the plot! Are they treated differently with regard to culture? That would be a pity as I was going to make some bandit and pirate improvements that gave them the plot and spawned units. I thought we may have had a partial solution to the Great Wall problem.

Since your last change i built a tower and then the regular hut, but now the resource is gone?? Its back to being not part of my radius??

Quite rightly too. I have not done the other improvements that claim territory yet. I have only done the pre industrial stony resource one.

Wooden tower does not give culture to the plot. I should make it so that you can't build it outside your border.

However I can't get anything to work at the moment! I think I need to find my civ iv install disks

Yeah i had the same problem last night, what i did was make sure i had my working copy backed up, then delete completely the playing copy and get a FRESH SVN copy and start using that instead, and then it all started working again, main thing was that darn cache stuff.

@Koshling the ai regarding super forts, or my implementation of the forts and towers, is causing workers to go out in the wild unescorted to build on nearby resources.

Edit towers and early forts are not changing ownership of the territory when you conquer them. Is this because they are not "cities"?

@Koshling there was something missed when Super Forts were merged in. The automate worker ai considers a new fort to be better than the resource improvement when in the working radius of the city. This seems to be down to the culture the fort is generating but any culture it generates will be swamped by the culture of the city.
