sorry for the delay, I have been hard-pressed meeting a couple of deadlines coming up on monday. If you've already started, keep playing. If not, please post soon and I'll try to squeeze this one in tonight
 
I'm a bit short on time, so I am going to post a much abbreviated summary of my turns rather than my typical full turn log.

Since we are going for pure conquest, I decide to rze unless there are good wonders in a city.

5:Research ToG, banking is all that stands between us and the IA

6: Raize Lagash, Shantung, get a leader picking off a byz spear/settler pair
7: Raize Calcutta, Bombay. Indians are eliminated
8: Marad deposes, cav army will retake next turn
Raize Zabalam, Umma
9: Enter the IA, draw nationalism. Steam in 7
Raize Isin

maybe it's because it's 2:30 in the morning, but for some reason I can't count and only player 9 turns. India is gone, about 5/6 knight or cav armies are converging on sumeria's last 3 core cities. I've lost many workers due to confusion about such open borders. Barbarians are a nuisance

preturn: AI are weak and stupid. I raise sci to get Steam in 6 turns.

Building courthouses in hopelessly corrupt towns is no use. We need to produce more workers from those towns. But most of them have invested too many shields. Switch to other cheaper things if possible.

Also hire some policemen whenever make sense. Switch taxmen to scientists to get Steam in 5 turns. Corrupt towns should hire specialists.

IBT a Chinese *regular* AC approaches Der which is undefended and has a stack of cannons fortified.

(1)1300AD: Creat dyes colony. Move a partially healed cav army to Der, just to find that AC disappeared in the air. :hmm: Then I realize the animation is turned off.

Cav army kills EW and captures Ur with Pyramids and Sun Tzu's.
Cav kills pike and captures Agade.

(2)1305AD: our cavs autoraze Chinan. Knight army kills 2 EW and captures New Herakleia.

(3)1310AD: Two armies kill a pike and two EW and capture Kish.

I decide to delay Steam for one turn and rush a Galleon.

(4)1315AD: knight army razes Shanghai.

(5)1320AD: capture Cincinati and America is destroyed.

(6)1325AD: We learn Steam Power. We do not have coal! Not a single source on our continent, not even on those surrounding little islands. There are several sources on the other continent and I create a colony.

Cav army captures Beijing with Zeus. Knight army and cav raze Nanking.

(7)1330AD: Raze more Chinese towns.

(8)1335AD: Raze Chengdu and the continent is clear. There is only one island packed with the rest of the civ. Upload 4 cavs next to Nagsu. Rush galleon.

(9)1340AD: lose two cavs and redline another, couldn't take Nagsu. Keep rushing galleon.

(10)1345AD: movement

(11)1350AD: movement. Our knight army is uploaded to the AI island.

(12)1355AD:

Load a cav into the army, kill 3 pikemen and we capture Nagsu. Sumeria is destroyed.
2 cav kill 2 spearmen and we capture Trebizond with Magellon's Voyage. Byzantine is destroyed.
Kill one pike and 3 spearmen and we raze Tatung. China has one city left. Our cav kills a spear in Macao and it's razed.

 
Way to wrap it up, Microbe!!! Good game, I'm glad I had the chance to play. Definitely illustrates the power of armies, we had some tense decisions on our early turns, but once we had a couple knight armies, it felt like the rest was a foregone conclusion. ;)
