Civinator, are you aware that the the WWI Infantry provided by Nationalism to Italy/Rome is 7 Attack & 8 Defense while every other Civilization get 8 Attack and 8 Defense? Also, the upgraded Italian Infantry from the Great War Experience is only 8 Attack and 8 Defense, unlike all the other Civilizations whose Infantry is 9 attack and 9 defense? The above anomalies are in both the civopedia and the .biq file.

Update from the front:
Good News/Bad News: I have captured all the Israeli cities. However, I have incontered the Houseboat bug.

We are at 45% of the world's territory. The Mogols might have the most advanced army (after ours) in the game. I am going to shift our forces to the west to concentrate on Canada then Brazil and who ever else is there and leave a defensive force towns bordering the Mongols.

In CCM 2.6 the attack value for Italian WW1 infantry is set to 8. The stats for Italian WW2 infantry stay as they are. Why? Please have a look at history in WW2.
 
I will change my mind and include R16 in the next game. What setting are you recommending changes?

Looking at the history of WW2, I have to wonder why several other civilations are not included with Italy in rating second rate Infantry. Some that come to mind are:
France, Poland, Inca, Aztec, Brazil, Spain, South Africa, and Korea. Probably some if not all of the Middle Eastern civilizations should be included in the second rate list.

Many of those civs didn´t participate in WW2. When looking at the miserable performance in Greece and in North Africa (before Rommel), I think the stats for that Italian unit are o.k. - and it should not be forgotten, that Italy/Rome with the legionary and the praetorian has some early powerful units in the game.

  • Israel does not have any towns, so they have no income to pay there troops with. Do they lose 1 unit per turn to prevent them from being bankrupt?

Now a city named Bayreuth should be founded for that spectacle.
:think: Maybe next time I get to build "The Great Playhouse" I will rename that city.

Actual till you mentioned it, I had never heard of Bayreuth (I just googled it).
 
Do *NOT* explore with the ships. The only reason for them is to try and destroy those annoying bombard units.

I lose 1 Lancia fighting random units. I had thought I could maybe squeak out another city capture with the half-dozen units by the capital, but there were too many enemies on the way.

Battle of Winnipeg is TOO easy. I didn't even have to use the Infantry :D
Battle of Edmonton costs us 1 Lancia, not bad.
Battle of Ulaanbaatar goes well, no losses, 1 retreat
Battle of Christchurch includes running over an Ansar Warrior escorting a Settler :D
Battle of Darwin barely deserves the name - one attack and it's done.
Battle of Sydney is vicious, costing us 3 attackers! We didn't quite get a magnificent seven units into the fight, though
Battle of Alice Springs is quick. 3 defenders, 3 attacks, done.
Battle of Canberra costs us 5 Lancias (2 lost clearing the approach). The defense was lighter than I'd expect for a capital.

I have tons of Lancias but very few Infantry left, so I go nuts attacking stray units along the NW border.

While clearing some stray units from my path, I get a Leader! Hippo gets a Factory.

Battle of Victoria costs us 1 Lancia.

Battle of Perth is easy, no losses
Battle of Mugla goes quickly (2 attacks) once I get my guys there. I needed to lay three rails and two roads to get troops in range!

Now we meet Germany, so I declare on them.

Battle of Edrine is easy to get to -- Turkey already has some rails laid -- but well-defended! We lose 1 Lancia.
Battle of Aydin goes well, no losses, leading to...
Battle of Konya is barely a speed bump
Battle of Wellington: We run over two Pikemen
Battle of Istanbul is enabled by culture-bombing Edrine. 6 Turkish Infantry put up a decent fight, but we ultimately roll into Dome of the Rock with no losses!

We ambush the Israeli army...and run out of Lancias before they run out of units. Over 50 attacks with <5 losses!
We do gain a Leader who rushes a Power Plant in Annaba.

Desperation time, I get some 4/5 Lancias, a 4/5 Horse Artillery, and some 3/4 Lancias from the capital.
No losses, and we destroy the Israeli cav stack!

They still have ~18 infantry in range, but I have enough units on the defense to avoid losing either city.

Battle of Hobart starts with a Zeppelin bombard. Mixed results. No losses in the assault.
Battle of Melbourne requires a river crossing, but we only lose one Lancia.
While clearing the neighborhood, I get another Leader! It's actually hard to know where to send him. More Universities aren't going to help much at this stage of the game. I settle on a Power Plant in Casblanca.
Battle of Bursa starts with a retreat, and we manage to lose two more Lancias in the fight. We get 666 gold from sacking the town.

I lose a couple of Lancias clearing out some chaff, then I culture-bomb Bursa. Disappointing results; I only clear the way to...
Battle of Giza, costing us two Lancias before the defense is broken. 687 gold.
Battle of Izmit starts with a retreat but then goes smoothly. 711 gold.
Battle of Sinop is easy, only 2 outdated defenders. 494 gold.
The next tactical city goes down in Brazilian territory which triggers their MPP with Scandinavia!
Battle of Cairns only needs 1 Lancia.

Battle of Sao Luiz does have one retreat, but it also generates a Leader who rushes a Police HQ in Osaka.

We kill a couple of stray Israeli units, too. They still have a big presence near Shechem.

1929 AD:

We retake Izmit with no losses.
Siege of Antalya goes fairly quickly, but we lose 1 Lancia. 748 gold.
Battle of Iznik is rough; we lose two Horse Artillery and two Lancias. We do get a Leader which, at this phase of the game, meh. Linz gets an Opera. 1262 gold and Jewish Religious Art!
Overrunning Uskudar is pretty easy; one of the defenders is a Spearman! 😂 1368 gold.

I take a break from cities to kill a couple of dozen Egyptian units, plus some strays near the front. Belgrade gets an Opera from another Leader

Then I kill another couple of dozen units near Shechem, losing 3-4 Lancias in the process. The Israeli forces are still looking dangerous there.

I would have liked to conquer more cities this turn, but the AI has too many units running around :(

Inspiration strikes - I have a lot of Settlers, Workers, and Great Artists. I go on a city-building spree, and it pushes us over the domination limit :D

IBT: The only thing of note is an elephant attack at Melbourne

It seems perfect to me. They weren't fit, so they didn't survive.

Congrats on another win and an entertaining read along the way. Looking forward to the team's next adventure!

It was WAY quicker than I expected! I had been planning on another 3 turns :lol:

We had quite a lot of space in the northern plains for our settlers
