Middle-Earth: Lord of the Mods (Private Beta I)

Odintheking -- If you are still interested, we could really use an easterling basic swordsman or spearman. Basically a mongol with a spear/sword/axe. PM me for some ideas.

We actually have enough possible Harad units to make two seperate lines for them if we wanted to. The easterlings are a unique civ of which we are lacking a bit of.

Thanks!

Yeah, that was a bummer, :(. BTW, I made some new elvish cities here, and had Numenor and Gondor in mind for the medieval era, maybe you guys would be interested in using it fo them, instead of those old cities from a while back, :).

I thought it was time for yet another :bump: to hear the latest gossip about how much fun the developers are having with this mod... ;)

Well, the decision was made that the last beta version would be that--the last. Now we are waiting on PCH to iron out the bugs we found, and, unless he and mrtn want to run another beta test through, the next version should be released.

I know Plotinus and I are working on some units for the mod, but it is my hope that neither of them, not being important but just 'eye candy,' delay the mod. They can always be added in at a later date. Mine won't be done for another month anyway, just because I don't have the time with finals coming up and such.

It has been a blast playing and testing this thing. I hope the rest of you enjoy it as much when it arrives.

I don't think mine is actually going to be in the mod as it stands anyway - just there in case it's wanted for a scenario based on the mod. Which reminds me - I'd better actually make the thing!

@Plotinus: Like I said, mine won't be done for a while yet either. Don't feel rushed!

@Stormrage: We have given this mod some pretty hefty eye candy, with LotM themed interface and etc. It's just hard to have four eras of troops for Gondor, and have them all have the White Tree on the shield. Civ-specific unit lines are pretty lacking. Instead, we have more flavor specific: High men (Numenor, Arnor, Gondor), Middle Men (Rohan and Northmen), Orcs (Angmar and Mordor), the 3 Elvish civs are a little more divided in first two eras, but then conform together, Dwarves, Hobbits, Easterlings, Haradrim, and Isengard (human first two eras, orcish last two)

It's been a while since I posted, as I am most thoroughly a lurker, but I helped early on in the project, doing a few names lists, and some might remember the Large Arda map I posted some time ago, for the Embryodeads Warhammer mod, although I dont think too many people played it.

That aside, how are things going? I rarely post at the forums however I am an avid reader, and always check this thread for progress. Any news? I'm happy for the smallest scrap!

Any chance at ALL of releasing the current version? I understand a desire to continue checking for bugs, but right now, a buggy version sounds much better than no version at all.
