Hey, I wanted to know if being in war makes militaristic civs go into golden ages? And if so how do you keep it on

Any civ (not just military) can trigger its GA by winning a battle with its UU. You can also trigger it by building Great Wonder(s) that match your civ's traits (check the wonders' traits in the Civpedia).

All golden ages last 20 turns and you only get one per game.

and a UU is what?

All civs get a single golden age lasating 20 turns, there are 2 triggers for this and a civ gets its golden age when the first one occurs:

1. The civ's special unit kills a non-barbarian unit.

or

2. The civ builds a wonder, the game then does a check of all the wonders that civ has(both captured and built). Each civ has two special traits (for example, the Egyptians are Religious and Industrious), call them trait A and trait B. If the civ has at least one wonder corresponding to trait A and one corresponding to trait B, it gets a golden age.

The Unique Unit - each civ has a unit that only it can build.

Persians - Immortals
Greek - Hoplite
Egyptian - War Chariot
German - Panzer
and so on.

~_~ Well my golden age only occurs one way since the civs I play their unique unit sucks for my blitzkreig tactic

Just build one and send it to attack some random AI straggler in your territory or something.

You can get a lot of veteran and elite units by killing a lot of barbarians, if you have a lot of barbarians, anyway. Then they're in better shape to take on the AI units.
