Military "Pictionary" Game II

Battle of Mersivan - 1101
the Seljuks, under Kilij Arslan I
vs.
Crusaders organized into five divisions: the Burgundians, Raymond and the Byzantines, the Germans, the French, and the Lombards.

(yes blatant googling went on to give that answer. But you still can't grab the answer for sure. I don't even know if this is right! Quiz master, can you have mercy on me?)

@ Bugfatty: Sorry about my poor jokes with your name earlier.

I think we really need to be cut some slack here and given some clues! This pic will have us guessing until it's time to start up a new thread .

Certainly: this battle is earlier than any mentioned, and in quite a different location. The losing army are not crusaders.

Another hint: The names of the leaders are more famous than the name of the battle. (I knew the names of the leaders, but had to look up the battle, although I knew what had happened there.) The victorious general has been commemorated by something famous that you all have likely heard of, and many of you have seen, at least in pictures.

Tarik vs. Roderic at the Battle of Guadalete (711). Tarik is famous for Jebel-ul Tarik (Mount of Tarik, Gibraltar). The battle led to Muslim conquest of Iberia.

Tunch Khan gets it. Roderick ruled the Visigoths in Spain, which is why the defeated army looks barbarian.

Congrats to Tunch, that was a hard one.

As usual, name the battle, who are the two generals, date and location :)
What was the outcome and what happened to the defeated?

I'm going to stick my neck out to help get this going. Utterly selfless of course ;)

These are early Ottomans, fighting in the Balkans, taking say Belgrade?

Therefore it is: Mehmet II vs. Szilágyi. June 29, 1456. Err Belgrade!

The turbans and short curved swords were what their cavalry were famed for in early days. It is mid-15th century because I am interpretting the clouds behind to be partly from cannon shots.

BTW - It's a poor reproduction, making it hard to see much detail. But then maybe that was the idea.

It could be the battle of Mohacs between the Ottomans (Suleiman the Magnificient) and the Hungarians (Louis II) in 1526. The Hungarians lost, their king died and their country lost independence to the Ottoman Empire and Austria (I simplified the things here, of course).
