Minecraft

Found a nice island seed - "Give me more islands!" (without quotes).

You start on a tiny island, and a ravine on a nearby island, and a 3rd island with a glitchy coast (you'll see - it's a random selection of stone, grass and sand in 1 chunk). Turning structures on gives it a tree and sugarcane. Turning structures off doesn't give you any.

Notch is adding hardcore mode. :)

who hoo !! :goodjob: this is what I've been waiting for !!

Any idea when this is planned for ? is it the proper 1.9 release ?

My game always crashes right after I load a new world (w/ 1.9 pre-release). Does anyone have a fix? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail.

I've had the same problem......two of PC's (desktop and laptop) work fine with 1.9 prerelease, the third PC crashes whenever generating a new world.

tried everything: reinstalling from Minecraft, copying program from another PC ....

let me know if you find anything out please!

I like this one - (nadir)

Looks like it might be a snowy sub-continent! Very few trees, too (you start on that sub-continent). Good survival map, I think. The "accordingly" seed (page two) looks like a nice large-island type map.

New to minecraft, how did you get a map like that?

I don't know enough about the level system to know if I like it yet. I want more challenge to the game, but if going up levels makes the game easier then I can't see myself enjoying it very much.

I believe they are adding bossess to the strongholds.

From notch: The plan now is to do another pre release of 1.9 this week. Yeah, it's a beta of a beta. :D It will have item reparing!

Edit: update on the screenshot. These are not leveling skills but potion effects, hence the countdown timers

Edit 2: Enderperls have new functionality. From Notch on reddit
It's the throw, teleport thing suggested on here!

It doesn't work at all in creative mode, and in survival or hardcore mode, it deals 5 points of falling damage. It's exciting to try to throw your way out of a ravine. Hit the wall, and you're basically screwed.
