Second minecraft 1.9 prerelease is out

Nine new music discs (11 in total, one "broken")
Blaze powder
Magma cream
Glass bottle
Spider eye (dropped by spiders) and fermented spider eye
Game mechanics
Hardcore mode: game over when you die, hearts have new icons
Golden apple now has a shining animation
Pressure plates on top of fence posts now make sound when you walk on them or next to them
Villagers has no names (No more TESTIFICATE)
Holding the spacebar allows you to jump continuously again
The enderman pearls now teleports you when thrown
Endermen teleport to dodge arrows. Endermen teleport out of water when they touch it. Endermen teleport a lot more
Item repair! Put two damaged items in the crafting grid (arrangement doesn't seem to matter)
F5 view cycling
Fences now attach to adjacent blocks, has an interesting outcome when used certain ways
Pumpkins can be “crafted” into 4 Pumpkin Seeds
Zombie Pigmen now randomly drop rotten flesh or gold bits instead of everytime
F8 cinematic mode is back
Animal breeding:
Feed passive mobs wheat to make them breed with each other
Passive mobs follow you when wheat is selected

yay! A whole months spent on bug fixing and performance improvements!

There are two more major things we want to add to Minecraft. We'll do a code freeze on the 18'th, then polish for a month before MineCon.

In creative mode, try feeding (and breeding) a herd of sheep and fly over a ravine. (unfortunately, having colored sheep mate doesn't produce a colored sheep).

The sheep (and other animals if you have wheat in your hand - and move slowly) just blindly follow you off a cliff.


Anyway, I loaded up an old alpha world of mine (had a nice manorial estate). The new lighting makes it look horrible! (at least without smooth lighting on) It's far too bright now...

Although, I don't want to start taking torches down and replacing things. That's what seem to cause my PC to shut down. Interestingly enough, I can 'travel' throughout the world without modifying any blocks and it'll be ok for 30-60 minutes, but I break one block, then my monitor shuts down. Fortunately, my new PC is in the works. (thinking of getting the Corsair Obsidian case, too - of all names. I prefer simple looking cases, and not ones that look like spaceships (ThermalTake) or like they the designer brand of computers (Lian Li).)

It's a hidden folder. You have to show hidden folders first.

There's also the copypaste to paint method.

FRAPS can also do it easily, and for every game, IIRC.

Open Minecraft, go to Textures and then open the Texture folder and go back in the file name by one folder and you're there.

Just recently started playing minecraft again. So... pistons, huh? Can't chain them, which is a bummer. I did make a fancy door out of them and I also made a cannon that can automatically load itself but besides those there does not seem to be much one can do with them (not that I can think of anyway). Also about that height mod, does it work? Any problems? The height limit really bugs me

Another option is searching for or running "%appdata%" (without the quotes, depends on which version of Windows you have). It should take you to the folder.

Here's an airship that I built in Creative and piloted fairly successfully using the Zeppelin mod, although a little choppily.
