I like seeing the villages in more biomes. The Mod is ExtraBiomesXL, adds a ton of different Biomes.

Speaking of texture packs, can they actually lag your gameplay, either SP or MP? Perhaps it's about time I chose one, but I'm not sure which sites are trustworthy.

I know that skindex is trustworthy enough since that's where I get my skins.

If you try and use a texture pack that is too large and performance intensive for your computer and Minecraft to handle then yes it can cause performance problems. However, you should be fine with ones like MISA's.

Yeah, I have a pretty poorly preforming computer and it can handle any x64 pack fine.

A mod that I've encountered in Minecraft (I'm still on 1.2.4. and waiting for Industrial Craft 2 to update :p). Good for you Minecraft and Skyrim players ;).

1.3 is out! :w00t:

The game now runs an internal server in single-player mode
The single-player server can be shared on LAN, with LAN server detection
Made it possible to use client-side commands by enabling cheats (this is defaulted as disabled for old worlds)
Added an optional “bonus chest” to get started quicker
It’s now possible to trade with villagers. Added emeralds as a currency
You gain enchantment orbs from other tasks than just destroying monsters. Max enchantment level has been decreased to 30
Servers can automatically suggest and distribute texture packs
Added new world map elements (does not need a new map, but they’ll only appear in new areas)
Added cocoa beans
Added an Ender chest
Added tripwire
Wooden logs can be placed sideways

Not included in this list is that they sorted the inventory interface under tabs, which makes everything much easier to find. Pretty awesome update!

Sounds like Multiplayer is a little more solid for this update. I'm tempted to try out the MP side of the game now. :p

Ender chest seems pretty cool. Apparently it works like the Piggy bank in Terraria. Anything you put in it can be taken out of any other Ender chest in the world. Pretty handy for storing things you can't carry when your inventory fills up, and you can access it from the Nether and The End too.

Someone should post the IP for the CfC server when it gets the new update too.

I'd rather get more mod support, personally. Something like the Mod database in Civ 5 that lets you download Mods in the game would be an awesome addition.

Of course, by streamlining multiplayer and singleplayer, 1.3 makes huge strides.

But yeah; I agree. I only ever play mods on servers owing to the difficulty of installing them.

I'm holding out for Tekkit to be compilable with that version :p.

The recurring theme of CivGeneral's mod woes. :P

Spoiler :
Notch said he's uploading it, but as of now, Minecraft.net is down for maintenance. (I'm not gonna quickly update since I am holding off till my favorite mods are updated to 1.8 including the mod loader)

Time to play the waiting game for the mods to update . I'll be sticking around 1.0 for a while.

I'm waiting till the texture pack (Painterly) and the mods I use are compatible and ready for 1.8.

1.9 pre release already?

Is Notch pumping out moar updates now? Still waiting on mod support so I don't have to constantly reinstall my Minecraft mods. As well as fixing the spider and Endermen brightness glitch when using custom skins.
