Just putting these items for "improvements" out there.

I think C2C needs these, but i really dont know that much about improvements and where they are needed (well i do, but i dont want to) hows that!!:p

What they are, are "improvements" that a worker is to build, such as a Personnel LandMine and a Tank Mine. Also he will be able to build a "trench" and a different kind of bunker that personnel can defend from and receive better results. And i just put in a labour camp, just for suggestions also.

So anyone have any ideas, on these, i know Orion has a LandMine python item someplace but this is for workers to build them.

About time. Mine Warfare always felt like an useless tech for me, and the only real reason to research it is for the next one, Trench Warfare.

But, how about Plasma and Ion Mines? These would be more effective against personnel/tanks in the Transhuman Age.

Also, will be Modern Workboats able to place mines at sea?

And just how much damage do they do - do they straight out kill the unit that steps on it or..? What about stacks? Would a stack of 5 infantry be eliminated or just one?

All good questions, but that is what i am asking for questions and answers, and btw i do NOT have nothing to do with Naval Mines, thats DH's stuff i believe. So only have info for LAND items, thx.

An obvious option seems to be to destroy the first unit to step on the mine, which would then remove the minefield? That would encourage you to send forward cheaper units to test the area before bringing on your strong troops (assuming, of course, that the minefield is also invisible to other civilisations).

If you did go that route, though, it might be worth making the landmine improvement not replace other improvements (farm, cottage, etc). Otherwise there'd be telltale gaps in your improvement area, which a human player could avoid easily.

Since a Unit in Civ represents an army, I think it would be best if all units in a stack that steps on a minefield would recive between X% and Y% damage, were X and Y is depending on Unit Type and Mine Type.

We were going to merge in Orion Veteran's mine warfare mod but he converted it from Python to dll because he said it was too slow otherwise. I can merge the python but not the C code. He used both land and sea mines and mine sweepers. That way your friendly units don't encounter the mine but your enemies do.

From what i used back in my Japan Mod, i made them act exactly like a "fort" <bActsAsCity>1</bActsAsCity>
and yes they would be invisible to NON-friendlies, that way you can see them just like a Thief/Rogue/Assassin, etc.

So not only do they connect territory and plots to your nation, when they blow up they take it all away again.

, but these are NOT set in stone, i am just trying to find out a way IF C2C even needs this stuff, and then WE need to figure out HOW to implode it into C2C (did you get the pun?):p

i am inclined to ask now for a unit called Youtube Firsters :P just to send them to clean up minefields :P
