Something about: If you are tired after long downloading and gameplaying as I in large maps, with many nations, graphics and long journeys try this. I made WW2 scenario in small Europe map ;)

Version: Civilization III:Conquests

Modifications and using map for other scenarios: allowed

File size: about 0,2 Mb ;)

Language: English (very bad)

Map: Europe by El Mencey- thanx!:

Civilizations:
Playable:
Allies - democratic states are in trouble, must try stop Axis expansion or be conquered

Axis - Their military power is nice but without oil they may be in trouble so must conquer Norway, Soviet Union or build road in Libya to continue with panzers

Soviet Union - weak in start, but every turn better and better, so mustnt have enemies in start or fail

Nations(non-playable):
Ireland, Portugal, Sweden, - neutral nations
Spain, Turkey - if you are interest, these nations may have very influence to War, so may try
Yugoslavia - fighting, around all Axis, in Allies alliance
Poland and Baltic states - conquered by Soviets or Axis?
Vichy France - Fascist neutral state, maybe some of free France survived?

Please write some suggestions and opinions. This scenario may have other, better versions. Blame me, wig me, I wanted any reactions.

Looks Good But a couple suggestions

1.Austria was anexed by Germany befor the war started
a.To fix this make it german controlled
b.You could also remove all their units letting the Axis take them early
2.The wall at france should be stronger forceing germany to take amsterdam
a. make a new unit that is imobile to keep them from all going to paris
3.Vichy France was a mock gov. setup by hitler
a.Make it part of france and later join axis.
4.United states factor?
a. The US needs to effect the war somehow.
b. Give london a wonder that gives them units to make up for US absence.
5.Spanish Morroco(tangiers) was a minor axis power.
6.Nuclear Plants were not invented yet and every city has one.
a. Remove the plants or rename them.
7.Generaly to many units. Europe hadn't mobilizeed yet.
a.Cut out most of italy's units
b.Yogoslavias
c.more evenly distributed in Poland
d.remove most of englands(i can see england attacking ireland)
f.Germany will need to be apropriatly lowered to the other countries same with all other countries
8.General lack of resources
9. Where is Switzerland?
10. DId D-Day happen
a.Remove transports and stack of 20
11.Yerusalem should be Jerusalem

Now for Good things :)

1.All axis under same controll
2.Lots of oil
3.No anoying unit downloads
4.Russia is done well :goodjob:
5.VP locations well placed in some spots

Uh-huh, thanx for report.
1) And Czechoslovakia, Albania and Baltic states too. I made it for resisting effect, other in Austria isnt any unit without one plane and in other it is simulating small fight, but maybe I will delete some :crazyeye:
2) I dont want keep Paris and Amsterdam in allies influence, only for recapture :p
3) I think its may be interesting factor of game, and German forces rushed in 1941. :p
4)Yeah, I think without it Allies havent chance if Hitler quickly load panzers to transports to capture Britain. Good idea...
5) Hmm I dont know anything about it. If they werent in war with allies I keep them under Spain...
6)I will fix it, I was too lazy...

9)Switzerland was only Axis bank, without any influence in military. And I want make Scenario without too many nations. :p

Oh now I understand what you meant with many VP in Austria. Prague and Košice arent Austrian!!! LOL;-)

Ok First Playtest! Soviet Union!

First thing I notice, no customized intro thing. Although I guess it isn't necessary, it is just one of those finishing touches that seperates the "Good" scenarios from the "Excelent" ones.

Ok next thing I notice: Allies have 14 Victory Point Locations
Axis has 5 Victory Point Locations
Soviets have 5 Victory Point Locations

While I'm ok with the Soviets only having 5 in the beginning, the Axis should have at least 10-11. Why? The Soviets should be able to win if they can get all of the Axis's spots shouldn't they? Or we could reduce the Allies to having only 8-9 Locations.

Please keep in mind that the AI goes rabid over VPs. Where you put those spots, the AIs will do ANYTHING to get there. Place these places that AI should focus on.

Ok first turn I took 2 poles cities, but then the Axis got the rest, and moved 16 troops into my land. I asked them to leave, and they attacked me. My slot in this was is set. In retrospect I should have agreed to a right of passage until I was better prepared, but oh well.

My first attack did well, or so I thought. I took out no fewer than 10 panzers and was proud of myself. Their counterattack took 4 cities, burning Kiev to the ground. At that point I bailed out. Now I'm going to try the Axis *cue maniacle laughter!* :)

EDIT: Hey you said something about adding a new version or something? Did you mean to post that up yet, or is it in the works? Might as well leave up the old version if your wokring on a new one.
 
Hey, I'm looking foward to this! I remember playing a European WWII in Civ2 on the school computer that had games on it.

On that one, they had New York City and Washington DC on a small chunk of land on the far side of the Atlantic...they also had some German U-boats around, and the US can be given lots of production shields since 2 cities have to make up for an enitre nation. Just a suggestion of how to work the USA in.

About VPs - I understand AI reacting. Allies have 14, but they dont keep it more than 2 turns. After it comes Soviets. They may conquer 3 Vps in Poland(hmm realistic are 2) Axis conquer other 12 VPs in 2-5 turns plus 2 VPs in Yugoslavia 3-6 turns. Its sure ;) . So if Soviets conquer Finland, Eastern Europe, Yugoslavia and Berlin they will have 14 VPs. :) I will also edit a littler domination effect, so you will not need conquer all Allied and Axis cities, but now I am in reserch of it :scan: .

About intro: I was doing it in all scenarios but I was thinking that WW2 is too much well know. But I may something write :)

Dont try with Soviet Union declare war againist Axis! Be a little servile, or you die ;) . Must wait ;)
 
Now updated version gains:
resource American help(+1shield,+1commerce,+1 food)
small wonder American Military Help in London(produces every turn tank)
impovement for Soviet Union: Centre of mobilisation(produces every turn rifleman)
Axis 10golds, Allies and Soviets 5000 golds
 
Ok I haven't gotten the newest version yet, but I just finished playtesting the one before it, as the Axis.

They SERIOUSLY need to be tuned down. After turn one, I had taken all the Allies Cities except one in Scandanavia, Gebralter, and Athens. The first turn also took me just over an hour to complete. :eek:

Suggestions, either give the Axis fewer tanks (what I suggest) or give the Allies (and Poles) more troops (I don't suggest, it would make the game take even longer).

I'll try this scenario again as the Allies on the newest version tommorow. However, I think the tank every turn will be unbalancing. However I'll let you know.

Ok maybe. But after it I must add three wonders because ist not possibility it with only one. First turn is long, but after it number of units rapidly decrease:-)

I know, maybe Axis are too strong, but I want it to show their strength. If they will not capture London in 8 turns its ok:-)

Soviet Union is very weak and I am not sure if new city improvement will use AI...if not for Axis its very easy to capture all Soviet cities:-(

But good scenario for fealings like Napoleon if you play as Axis....
 
ameirican aid should be a marine or sumfin
you should also give the russians somfin similair like tanks or infantry to help their mobilization
 
My first impressions of the scenario:

- The Italian navy seems too strong. I don't know what the British have but the Italian navy should be no match against the British one. And I think there are too many Italian Subs in the Med.

- I suggest including Malta, in order to cut off the German link between Africa and Europe, as it was in reality. Maybe the Germans can have a significant number units (as Rommel can not be simulated) but no supply (no acess to rubber).

- I think the German troops are too much in the West. When Hitler invaded Poland he said he could lose the war right there if the French+British invaded right away. They had very little army in 1938 and 1939.

- The Wonders are a good idea: you can make Wonders for the Germans to auto-produce more units in the beginning and Wonders for the Allies to auto-produce more units later on.

- I would not allocate Westerner North Africa to the allies. Either create one more neutral Civ or give them to France.

- I understand your idea about Vichy's France, but this could mean a war between "France" and the Allies in this scenario. Maybe it would be best to merge France with the Allies.
 
OK I read suggestions and after added new file.
New improvement for Soviets-Red Army Factory, cost 8, produces every 2 turns tank
Deleted Vichy France and many panzers and Italian navy units in areas which you suggested
Strenghtened defence of cities in West Europe,Warsaw and Yugoslavia.
Added Malta
 
I've played your scenario, and it works very well - just a few things I would change:

Weaken the Axis - they're too powerful, esp. the navy.
Increase military of Soviet Union - they were a great force in and after WW2.
Get rid of the tank in Ireland - the Irish didn't have tanks!
Perhaps include the city of Oporto in Portugal and Cork in Ireland to make these stronger powers.

Otherwise, this was great! Keep up the good work.

1 and 2)Please note if Axis dont crush Narvik or Egypt after some turns they will start waring with Riflemen:-) I dont want make perfect balanced WW2 scenario, I want make some big tactical differences between all included sides. Soviets must build improvements, wonders and much money for upgrade to infantries and after it they will have big army:-) Wait for year when Axis attacked Soviet Union and will see;-)

3)One tank in Ireland is if British wanted make assault to chance of take Belfast, I dont think it will have influence...

4) Small map has advantages and disadvantages. I realy dont like making cities very near. In for example WW1 its very good to simulate small steps to enemy area but in WW2 especially with Ireland and Portugal.... :p
