Minor Graphics Glitch

I've tried reformatting my laptop, re-installing graphic drivers, re-installing the game, but the error still persists. I can run Civ V just fine without these glitches happening. Is my graphic card too old?

All sorts of help is appreciated!

For those that are lazy,
-> Missing red border during planetfall
-> Missing minimap
-> Can't load AI leaders images

The rest seems to be working just fine.

Can you please attach your dxdiag? Just search in the start menu for dxdiag, open it up, save all information, and attach the file here.

Sorry to hear that you're having a problem with the game. Please post your DxDiag.txt file. Hit the "Windows key" and "R", type in Dxdiag, hit enter. A menu will appear, with a save option at the right bottom. Save the file and attach it here. This provides us with essential information about your system. Thanks.

Sorry to have to tell you this, but your video card (NVIDIA GeForce 310M) can run DX10, but not DX11. Since CivBE requires DX11, your system doesn't meet the minimum hardware requirements.

The 8800GT is only DX10, not even DX10.1 like the 310m.

And it is listed as "minimum" requirement. So the DX level isn't likely to be the problem.
I think there is a thread somwhere here where it was concluded that most/all DX10 cards should be able to run BE in principle, as long as the OS supports DX11 (Vista W7,W8)

Yes, if I set the settings to minimum. The leader scenes can load just fine without animations.

My prime concern is the mini map
