Every time I start warhammer the menu bar of the main menu is missing.

I see the select thingies on the right and the left of where the text (start game, credits, etc.) should be and also can select them, but I can't see any letters.
Also, every single description text is missing.

Civ IV, BTS 3.17
Windows XP
Folder: ...\Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods

I've got no problems with Fall From Heaven II or BtS.

I really hope this is no doublepost, but after searching three or four thread-lists I gave it up. ;)

If you feel like translating... ;)
we got as far as agreeing that 'units' should be 'einheiten', not kriegsgruppe.

Though much of the english text is not included yet either. :p

indeed ,if anyone wants to translate the mod feel free! if you manage the immense task it will definately be added in at some point :)

@ mutant: i believe it is possible to load mods in a different language to the one you have the main game set as, but i cant rememebr exactly...

I have indeed no problems to run the still untranslated Fall From Heaven II 0.40. Weird. If anyone can help me with that it would be great!

@Translation: As far as I can manage it temporally (I have some university exams in 2 months), it would be a pleasure to me to help you with that. :goodjob:

open the .ini file in ffh2 and copy the line that suggests something about language preference to the ini-file in your warhammer folder.

(maybe the preferences are fixed in xml though, in which case the first option in the ini should have the value 1)

You should wait before doing any translation, as much is yet to do in this mod, and much can change before the final version.

there is a simple way to change your base civ game to use english, but that would mean if you want to play in german again you will have to undo this change.

Open up the file called "_Civ4Config" in your BTS file.

find the lines

Code:
; English(0),French(1),German(2),Italian(3),Spanish(4) - Defaults to user-installed language
Language = 2

(press control+f and search for language)

and change it to:

Code:
; English(0),French(1),German(2),Italian(3),Spanish(4) - Defaults to user-installed language
Language = [B][COLOR="Red"]0[/COLOR][/B]

this should solve your issue, if not then there is something else wrong that we have overlooked

------------

also on an unrelated note, if you want to load this mod automatically (or any mod) everytime you load civ, change the line:

Code:
; Specify a Mod folder (Mods\Mesopotamia), '0' for none
Mod = 0

to

Code:
; Specify a Mod folder (Mods\Mesopotamia), '0' for none
Mod = [COLOR="red"][B]Warhammer[/B][/COLOR]

Wheee - I like it, but the barbarian random events are a big pain in the ass. :D Some yet unexperienced new challenge, I like that.
Anyway, great stuff!

The suggestion "build castles only on your borders" (correspondingly) is therefore becoming a little awkward, I guess. *g*
(You know, it comes at the loading screen sometimes.)

hahahahahah thats a very good point! we should change that to build castles on your borders for defence but be sure to keep all your cities well defended against random barbarian invasion from events.
