MLDR01 - Ga'day Gov'na

I just checked and Todd hasn't posted since the 11th. I think Meldor should grab the game. And Todd can jump back in later.

I was thinking I would grab it tomorrow night I have to finish RBMoo1 tonight. If you can play it tonight Hotrod, go ahead and I will grab your post tomorrow.

430 BC (0)
Get a lot of troops moving from Spain towards Germany. Soame need nmore than 1 HP healing but they can get that in a city with barracks. One city has three spears and two cities have no defenders. Wake one spear and send it towards one of the empty cities. Wake some warriors and upgrade them to swords. I ask Lincoln what he would like for construction and he laughs at me. I do not think he will be laughing for long.
(I) An American settle/spear pair comes out of the fog. He really dosn't know what good for him does he?

410 BC (1)
Move some units, upgrade another warrior.

390 BC (2)
Still getting our swords down to heal and get in place.

370 BC (3)
Upgrade another warrior, the swords are now healing.

350 BC (4)
Warriors resume the trip south.

330 BC (5)
Swords are nearing position. We might lose some workers if I declare.

310 BC (6)
All swords are in place I will wait till next turn.

290 BC (7)
We are at war with America again. The city of Punjab has just appeared at the end of the long pennisula. We are hurrying a ship that way. We bring Spain in on the war for furs and 220g. Snag a German worker as our opening shot.

270 BC (8)
Three newly upgraded horsemen head for America. The swords advance on Washington.

250 BC (9)
Swords are now outside Washington.
(I) They lose three warriors on attack. We lose a sword to an archer.

230 BC (10)
Kill the archer. We take Washington and the Oracle. Not as good a luck at Philly.

210 BC 1. Demand Spain remove their forces from our lands, they comply. Change temple builds to libraries. Get our valiant armies in positions to hel up for the next attack. Get a small rested force together to work toward an assault on the American Iron colony.

IBT Americans ask for a meeting. They will give construction for peace but that's not quite enough and I'm not going to break the alliance.

190 BC 2. Hamburg library->horseman Attack an archer with a reg sword, lose to the archer who does not even get scratched and promotes to vet. :( So, I hit him again with a wounded elite and this time we win without a scratch but no leader.

170 BC 3. Mostly a resting round.

150 BC 4. Costs us a horseman to take the american colony defended with a horseman, it had a fortress. Start a march on Philly with 4 swords and 3 horsemen.

130 BC 5. Position forces next to Philly.

110 BC 6. I start the attack on Philly with the horsemen to soften them up, we lose one horsemen but the next 2 win and take the city.

90 BC 7. The Spanish are really serious in the alliance against the Americans, they now have 10 units north of Frankfurt.

70 BC 8. March to New York, to take the horses.

50 BC 9. The battle for New York was quick and simple, no losses. Onward to Atlanta or Boston.

8 more turns of Alliance, the Americans should be just about done by then. We should be able to meet the Indians in about 6 more turns with the one galley.
Good Luck.

Looking carefully at the map there are coast tiles to the north of Spain, directing a galley over there. India is reachable in like 5 turns, yeeha ! let's hope no-one finds them before
By the way how many Elite wins have we had already ? :mischief: and how many leaders ? :mischief:

30bc : Take Buffalo, move SoD towards Boston.
10bc : Kill a few poor yankees in the open.
10ad : Boston liberated from the American oppressor at the expense of one Elite sword
BUT Jesus creates Barbarossa who sprints to Washington :D
ibt : Palace extension, you bet.
30ad : troop movements and rush of the FP in Washington.
ibt : another Palace extension, bring it on.
50ad : our Galley gets to those Indians villages and find an iroquois galley parked there as well.
Wow these are my "lucky turns", no offense to Meldor but this game is already in the bag so I'd rather keep those for the Emperor AW game :D
Thinking about it long and hard I do not need to trade with the others right now as I believe I can get Republic, Currency and Construction from US for letting them keep a tundra fishing village, also if the AIs sell my contacts techs will cost me less without me having to buy those contacts, it's a risky plan but I run the gamble.
70ad : Indeed India sold me around and the French are also quite advanced, the 3 other guys are just totally useless.
90ad : We take Atlanta. Now moving ASAP to finish the US when our Spanish alliance ends.
110ad : moving troops, in the North we do find a new island but lose our galley :( At least our map will be priceless :)
130ad : Spanish raze a worthless US city in the mountains. Just fail to take Seattle, must be a Microsoft bug ;)
150ad : Take Seattle, get WM+ all treasury, Republic, Construction and Currency from the US.
I then go to the ******** Iros to trade Currency for Poly. We enter the Middle Ages but without any message so I close & open again the diplo screen and our free tech is....Engineering ! :jump:
Talk about lucky turns, but check this the French have Feudalism and Mono and the Indians only Mono [dance]
Trade Engineering+WM+contacts around, spend no money and get Mono, Feudalism, Monarchy, WM, bankrupt all AIs (except France)
We now have 1106g to play with :)
Massive horse upgrade anyone ?

We should revolt right now to get to Republic ASAP, up to next leader to make the decision.

There will be a slight delay. It seems that here at home I can not see skyfishes link. I did see it from work, so I will email it to myself tomorrow and get the turns done as soon as I some home from work. Sorry folks.

150 AD (0)
There isn't a better time so I hit the button. We get 5 turns anarchy. It doesn't look like I will be able to start a war on this turn so my streak stops at two. Hopefully, I can shift things to get us ready for hitting Spain on the next persons watch.
(I) The resistance in Atlanta and Seattle ends. Lincoln is down to one city and it looks like the Spanish are going to want to move a lot of troop through our land to get at him. I may let them as it will put a lot of them out of the way.

170 AD (1)
The spearman arrives in Atlanta. One more each heads for New York and Seattle.
(I) Lots of Spanish folks headed our way.

190 AD (2)
I was going to move some of the healed units up towards Spain but decide to hold off since they are coming towards us.
(I) The Indians are building Sun Tzu's and we don't even have a pre-build?

210 AD (3)
Wake some units to go block the Spanish.

230 AD (4)
Build more Spanish Blockaid.
(I) We are a Republic. The French complete the Hanging Gardens. The Indians cascade to Sun Tzu's.

250 AD (5)
I have to up lux to 40% I swap some military builds to markets. We have to get more than 7spt in our capital. It has two entertainers right now. I build the embassies we don't have. Indain is 33 turns from Sun Tzu's. Best we could do is 86 turns. We will see next turn. The French now have Theology.

260 AD (6)
We keep extending the Spanish blockaid. Start more Markets.

270 AD (7)
Boring builder turns, the blockaid extends.
(I) The Spanish build the Great Lighthouse for us in Toledo.

280 AD (8)
The blockaid is completed, as soon as the Spanish don't have too many units near our workers........

290 AD (9)
Upgrade 12 Spears to pikes. I should have seen this earlier. I will begin to swap them out and upgrade all our spears, but I started late the next person will have to carry on.
(I) The Spanish are leaving slowly. When it looks good let's hit them.

300 AD (10)
Swap some spears and pikes. Some WW must have left as I can drop lux to 30%. Watch it as we may be able to drop it again next turn.

Galley at San Fran is waiting for settler and escort to head to island in the north.
