Taking time to investigate what is going on and see where all units are. We have many. 19 (!!) armies look impressive. However, our military is weak compared to Persia. And Egypt. It would be very nice to have Combustion, but rather useless researching it as Anarres noted previously. Also notice some Zulu citizens(3) in New Hareid. Gues somebody joined a few Zulu workers to the city. There is also Zulu citizens in New Honningsvag(1) and New Aarhus(2). I leave it like it is since it has no impact on the game overall. We are at 43% area and 54% population. Area can be claimed by rushing a few temples but some additional population growth can be achieved as well if we stop massive drafting. (Or join foreign workers against the defiant rule)

When I press on Details section in F4 screen, the game crashes. Reloading clean C3C works. I'll try to get rid of these Zulu citizens but rushing settlers. If this dont work, the cities will have to be disbanded. Do not completely understand the point of going after Egypt. We might as well kill Arabia and gain more land for Domination avoiding hassle of attacking small Egyptian islands. But an army is dispacthed to pillage their core cities just in case. Also, a few cities on Japanese continent built on lakes switched to growth building markets to ensure citizens remain happy. We need to get to 66% population. We also need some temples on the American continent.
[1] 1745AD. Combustion would be a priority, we would have hard time reaching Dominatoin without it. Have started it at 50% for 38 turns. New Hareid has been abandoned and rebuilt with Scandinavian settler. Same goes for New Aarhus. These Zulu are everywhere. They have actually masked them as tax collectors in New Stockholm and New Falun. Rushed aqueduct in New Lilehammer.
[2] 1750AD. Our galleons delivering troops to Egypt are somewhat disposable. We lost 2 this turn and only 1 survived. But pillaging has started. Cavalry army has landed in Arabia. There are only spearmen there in sight. Should be rather easy. IBT a few cities rioted.
[3] 1752AD. Four spearmen in Medina slaughtered. Went through all cities and changed all taxmen to scientists. Not much but we are still making 50gpt and combustion ready in 21 turn. There is a problem of delivering troops to Egypt. They have lots of ships.
[4] 1754AD. It also looks like we had some workers automated. They somehow managed to mine a few tiles. The turns are actually rather tedious.
[5] 1756AD. Since most of the cities are set to gevernor, it is sometimes confusing. IMO, using Mapstat is better. It tells exactly which one are going to riot and hence happiness there can be adjusted as desired. Another IMO, but we are out of the rush phase and some civil engineers were hired to help control the population growth.
[6] 1758AD. Got an leader in Arabia. Intelligence Agency finished. However good it is, it does not help us obtain Combustion.
[7] 1760AD Improvement of American continent finished. Probably, we dont need more workers and should not build them unless mobilized. Same goes for drafting. This does not help us to get to Domination. Mostly population growth and cultural border expansions as well as building of new cities.
[8] 1762AD. Killed about 25 spearmen in Medina losing 3 infantires and 2 cavalries. There is at least about 20 more archers there and indefinite number of spearmen. Dont think that the game can be decided without combustion.
[9] 1764AD. Same thing again and again. The game rather tedious.
[10] 1766AD. OK, finally it ends. I mean my turns. Combustion ready in 11 turns. If Mark plays next ten, Aggie or maximum Anarres can probably finish the game. Looks like with some cultural border expansion and settling of Arabia which will be probably captured very shortly after transports, and may be Persia we can hit Domination limit. Egypt is too tough. They are no threat though and can be left alone IMHO.
Not the best turn I played but we are doing OK. Most of the cities are optimized and we can hit population Domination limit in 10-15 turns. The cities have either civil engineers (to speed up the builds of markets) or scientists. I have carefully selected a few cities which can be allowed to grow to size 12 and have then as many scientists (taxmen) as would be possible. Still recommend using Mapstat, it is a great help especially considering the size of our Empire and complexity of its management. Governors can be conveniet but they suck IMO. We have some war weariness but it is so far not a huge issue.
Getting Combustion is a priority. We have 9 idle armies on American continent which equals 36 killed arabian spearmen per turn.
