[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

Nope, we haven't set a release date yet.

i just wanna say thank you for puttin in so much time and effort into creating such an excellent game. just wanted to show my appreciation and post a reply so i can get a subscription to this thread so i can easily read it at netime. i have recently gotten Blender for 3D modeling but still need to take the tutorials and mess around with it before i could actually do anything to really help out here, but ill get it once i get the time.

im also a noob to the whole civ game and have beaten it on Chieftan but couldnt beat it on Warlord, lol. either i suck or just need more practice.

no doubt about that one, thats what makes it so great tho. cant wait for "fire" so there can be even more stuff to get me all jumbled up.

k, im sry if this is the wrong spot, but theres so many threads its hard to find the rite ones sumtimes, even with the search. anyways....is there a map rich in resources such as mana, i play as the Sheaims all the time and would really really really like a lot of mana nodes.

yes i like to play as the all magical powerful sorcerer from hell nobody dares mess with. haha, and i play on chieftan difficulty, lol. just tried warlord difficulty and couldnt pull it off, then again im new to ffh and civ period so its acceptable (for now neways)

any help in directing me to those rich mana maps would be appreciated, again i apologize if this is a stupid question and wrong thread.

Hmm, all maps running FfH should have a minimum amount of mana, at least 1 per player, I think, due to the map checker. If you want more you can add more players. Or try terra map, you can usually get 3 or 4 more mana sources from the new world (you just might have to pry them from some cold dead orcs first).
Also, you might not know that some wonders give mana; all religious shrines, for example, and the soul forge. The wiki will fill in the gaps in my memory, stickied in the FfH 2 forum.

yea, one of em that i know of gives 3 fire mana, but u need one fire mana to build it, no biggy really. most manas i have no use for really, prolly just cuz i play on chieftan difficulty so not too much strategy needed. i mostly play for fun and ill take a game to the last 50 or so turns cuz i win by conquest or domination but before i start any wars i just build up all my cities before i start producin massive armies, then go take over the world one city at a time, or two, or three.......

anyways..thank you Nikis-Knight

Roland,

I am a major magic buff as well... what will doubtless assist you in your climb to power is following Nikis-Knight's advice about picking up mana nodes by establishing religions. Using the Amurites is probably the way to go if you enjoy fireballing the crap out of your enemies... the Sheaim excell at summoning arcane creatures to overwhelm your opponents (although I generally make a point of having both summoning and sorcery -- it's just fun to mix it up).

You should SERIOUSLY consider building the "3 free fire mana" wonder -- it can have an enormous effect on your game as it frees up your promotions for strength increases, range increases, and/or access to different spheres (such as the death promotions that create necromancers... and effectively allow for three more units that can throw meteors).

If you follow Nikis's advice, practice just a little with the different spheres to see what they do (and how they can compliment each other), and learn the unbridled joy of level three spellcasting, you will be able to jump up several difficulty levels in no time.

P.S. Practice with the Amurites first -- their "cave" will allow you to create very skilled magic-users to experiment with, and their hero is a wizard too. Try the Octopus Overlords religion in order to build Hemah as well.

Good luck!

well im normally the Sheaims and this last game im in rite now i build the 3 fire mana wonder and as always i founded the veil religion along with the dragon cult. but mostly because i havent been too sure on who else to use and i figured its prolly best to practice with one civ before i start scattering myself with diff civs and strategies, in vanilla it was much easier to just switch.

Thank you for the advice tho, im gonna try the Amurites, then decide which one suits me best. (altho i like mostly magic, i normally go for Rosier the Fallen and Mardero for some really good melee, cuz thats always good to have too, not much but mostly just those two and the black dragon, dont know how to get the other dragons, if you know please tell, lol)

and i also say hello fellow michigander Thorvald.

The other two dragons are the red one, which can only be build by the baberians (but you can convert him if you win with and inquisitor or the hippus hero)
And the golden one is the Kuriate hero.

Hey, that's Michel Foucault! He was one of the most important contemporary sociologists, and one of my favourite as well.

So what is the release date of 0.17? I can't wait to play 0.17 depending how good it is like 0.16 when it was released. In what version are you planing to do a final on if you are making FhF 3 for Warlords?

We aren't doing any FfH version on Warlords.

"Fire" will be version 0.20, but we don't have a release date for it yet, sorry.
