[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

First off, I LOVE this mod... can't wait for updates and scenarios. I can tell there's a lot more work to do, and I'm eagerly awaiting the changes. One thing that is bothering me now, though, is that most times I've played, the resource Reagents has not appearred! Is this an intentional scarcity, limiting mid-late game magic, or is it just a problem because it's a new resource?

Have you tried going into custom game settings before starting the mod, to select the random reseed option? Of course this does mean you'll have to peek in world-builder mode to verify whether there are reagents at all. If you try this on a consistent basis, you'll know for sure your chosen map style is somehow holding back on reagents (maybe a fix is in order with the Shadow version). If you do see any, this is an indication that your map style is unpredictable as far as resource availability goes. Although other players have complained about the absence of some resources, I haven't had the problem of the missing reagents a whole lot (I've played many games in the past months to base my judgment). Try different map styles? Just a thought.

Elephants would be OK by me, if they could just build a cage like all the other animals. Either to give happiness/culture, or maybe to give Ivory like the Spiders do Silk. Or make it possible to upgrade them to a strong War Elephant or something late in the game.. As it is now, they have a limited use as defensive units in the early game, but once Rangers are available you might as well disband them..

Since you have obviously had success in sacrificing spiders, my question is how do you do it? Do you need slavery? I have captured spiders, gotten the technology that permits you to build the silk farms, but never seen a button permitting you to sacrifice them... What do you need to do this?

I don't have any suggestions to correct your problem, but I can assure you that reagents do appear and, in all the games that I've played (a little over 10) they are typically NOT that rare.

I am trying my third FFH2 game, on BTS, and I have noticed a disturbing trend with animals and barbs in that on normal there are very few, animals with wildlands very few, and raging barbarians insane levels(year 200 I have 5 cities, leading other 11 civs, next closest having 2, and two civs destroyed). Am playing on huge, looked in worldbuilder and found no other animals but those damned timid overpowered elephants. And 5 billion barbs. I love the idea of this mod, but it has a few game play issues, especially early on huge, but even later with aggressive AI nowar for me at all unless I start it. wish I knew how to fiddle with the game. Am not trying to be a whiny douche, I really appreciate the work, the concepts worked into this mod a fairly brilliant, just giving my two cents. looking forward to dec 16.

I always play custom games, usually huge or large pangea or continents maps, with labruscum option and wildlands selected, aggressive barb, and I can confirm that: I almost never met animals, playing at high levels I am attacked by several hordes of barbarians the whole game (main defenders in my cities reached 40-50 exp points in few turns), every 10-20 turns I read an announcement of another civ destruction! It looks strange but playing without wildlands selected I meet much more animals, so probably it needs some correction. Great mod anyway!

This feature does not work in the BtS version of FfH. I think it's slated to be fixed in the Shadow update.

I wonder what it would be like if we could build more animal units after we cage them in a city so we can build then use either for war or to make cages in the other citys. I liked the panthers. I wonder if Hell Hounds could appear as an animal unit if the AC went up. I wonder what it would be like if we could start a game as Hyborem or basium if I had a choice.

More animals WITHOUT Wildlands???? Can anyone confirm this? I've been playing exclusively with Wildlands, so maybe I should try this....

Compared to previous versions of FFH I've also been getting far fewer animals (except - always - Elephants). A question: have Lion Dens and Wolf Packs been completely removed? The only thing I still see that spawns animals are the Bear Dens.

Of course, now the Contest is closed, i think of a much better wonder

The Labyrinth.
(though this could be unique Belseraph building/national wonder)
require: Chaos mana, Earth mana, Nature mana
effect: most simply, gives a great defensive bonus to the city it houses (300%)
it has random effects which change over time, from producing a random resource, to giving random promotions to units built in the city, to giving experience to units, to acting as a planar gate...

OK -- goofy idea of the week... what about an anti-spam toggle in FfH that would prevent AI Civs from constantly asking the human player to go to war vs someone else or stop trading, change one's civics or religion, etc. In essence, it automatically answers "NO" to all such AI questions. On the flip side, the diplomatic penalties would also automatically apply for the negative answers... ;)

um can i get some help with this?

Ok, here is your help with the word: "this".

So, I have downloaded the newest version of FfH2, and I have gotten patch L... and yet when I play as the Kuriotates, I don't get to usee the 3rd tile in my cites. I was wondering if anyone else has had that problem, or if anyone knows anything I can do to fix that?

Thanks

im trying to download your file but i dont know where to put it

It doesnt really mater where you download the exe file. After you download it you run the file to install it and it will already have the default location in the install script.
