[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

Just throwing in that I would like it a lot more if the world spells were more unique. Right now they feel tacked on to an already excellent mod, and I don't really see the point. The world spells make sense (somewhat) but it would be more interesting to see them implemented as unique civ advantages that last the entire game, rather than just providing a one time advantage. That and the Cult of the Dragon are two features I wish had not been implemented in Shadow, based on my experiences with them.

Also, does Living World affect Cult of the Dragon events?

Ah, figured out now what the matter was with Wrath's army. Thumbs up, this way is cooler. I had a great WTH moment when I realised that there was only one unit in the capital, and it was enraged.

Summonings have changed quite a lot. The shadow stuff is cool but limited enough in application that it's not wildly overpowered. As a Sheaim fan I have to say though, you took away my sand lions and gave me azers? *grumblegrumble* Yeah, I know they've moved to Sun...

Still curious and a little miffed about those 13-point armageddon hikes on single massacres, but otherwise good clean family fun. Well, fun.

Say, what ever became of the old list of all the Civs in the mod that was on the first page of this thread?

For one, the one that's linked now in lieu of the old list doesn't show the racial enemies. Maybe I'm the only dork big enough to miss that. <.<

Ok, when the Demon guys (Hyborean) appear, they cause the ground to become 'tainted'. I know the ground can be 'restored' with a spell.

If you eliminate the Hyboreans from the game, does the world effect eventually go away?

Thanks in advance for any info/answers-

You can beat it back by using the Life I spell "Sanctify", I do believe. Other than that the spread of Hell terrain is dependent mostly on the Armageddon Counter. The higher it is the more aggressively it will spread. Even if Hyborem is killed the Hell terrain will stay behind, and if the Armageddon Counter (which will drop when Hyborem is killed, mind) is still high then the Hell terrain will continue to spread. The only place, ultimately, that is safe from its encroachment is terrain inside the borders of Good civilizations. Hell will never spread into the lands of good men (or elves, or dwarves, or, you know).

So, hey. Ever since I started a game in order to participate in Nikis-Knight's Story Contest, and randomly ended up playing the Clan (gag, gag) I've come to notice that I don't seem to be getting Wolf Riders when my Goblin units defeat wolves anymore. I seem to recall that happening pretty much automatically in the past, am I missing something here? Has that mechanic been removed, or does it just have some requirement (Animal Husbandry?) that I'm not aware of?

OK... I've now played about 10 games at the "f" patch to completion and I have a few questions to which, undoubtedly, everyone else knows the answer...

1. After "f" did Basium become completely blood-thirsty? I don't remember him in previous version being quite so diligent about wiping out all evil civilizations (unless, of course, they become a vassal to his partner and him...). This is becoming a real pain in the *ss. I would like to try being evil (or bring Basium into the world -- I did this a few games back and was in constant war), but I have concerns that as soon as Basium is born I'll be in a war (I'm a sissy and tend to avoid wars). On the other hand, while Basium is EXTREMELY aggressive against evil, does it make sense that Hyborem (his opposite number) isn't just as aggressive against "good' empires?

2. Since "f" does the AI civs expand their empires much more quickly? Unless I forget about wonders and concentrate on settlers, it seems like inevitably one or more civs become larger than me. I don't recall this happening in the past...

3. Is release ".31" released yet (i.e. on another thread that I haven't yet discovered)? I'm hoping that some performance issues may be fixed in it... In my last game, by the end it was taking five minutes between turns (though I only got the "Send error report" message once -- which was good!!). On the other hand, I did catch up on a LOT of reading during it. ;) While I understand that there has been a great deal of logic added to cover the various new features in the game, I'm hoping that the EXTREMELY inventive creators of this mod can come up with an answer to this problem. :)

Thanks.

hi guys,

i searched like 30 minutes on google now to find possibilities to play fall from heaven versus other human players without any success.

I played only 1 game against one of my mates but since he does not have so much time i could use some more practice. So do you guys know some site where you can meet other human players to play?

Thanks in advance for any replies cause i am kinda desperate

Try Sureshot's Multiplayer Thread for one good place to look.

I play a lot of FFH multiplayer myself, but typically only with my chums so I'm not of much help to you there I'm afraid. But try that link, should be helpful, I hope.

It's about time. Basium used to sit on his butt and be nothing but a parasite to the civ that built the Mercurian Gate.

Now for my opinions are like buttholes moment (ie everyone has one)...

Buildings like stables, training yards, etc should give unit xp bonuses and/or speed production and not be required to build the unit, for both the AI and Humans... Especially for basic units, I can see national units with the pre req.

is there any other way to get .30 without using gameflood? i've just downloaded it but when i press run it says "script exec error: t72.lua68:bad argument #1 to 'ipairs' (table expected, got nil): -1"
