Yeah we want warning popups but they are low on the priority list.

I am playing lots of fireball tossers lately to try to gauge their power. Im not sure if im ready to change them yet.

I guess I am a diffrent type of player, I use small amount of spell casters

Yeah the culture effects (incluyding consecrate) are all under review and need to be redone.

This hasnt been my experience, does anyone else think heroes are to fragile? Which heroes are you talking about Mamimo?

Well, all of my heroes die (I can't seem to finish a game with one) & most die early, when the enemy sends huge amount of strong troups against ,u stack the hero usualy fights off most of the attack before regular units start their defence, some time the hero can't stop many attacks & dies.
But I see it's my problem & I might need to revise my game (again).

This is a 0.11 save. We fixed a lot of CTD's in 0.12.
Well, It should have been 0.12 because I have applied the patch before starting a new game, I will d/l the whole file.

Oh, another thing, the wonder "pack of ..." that gives you 3 hill giants, well every time I build it it seems useless. I mean if I would go for it in the beginning it might help a bit but usualy it takes a while & there are other priorities, meanwhile the units get experience & can fight off hill giant...

The first level heroes are pretty fragile later into the game, true.
They'll have a hard time defeating a unit of longbowmen in an unbombarded city, and would prolly lose :) I think they'd be much more formiddable with access to city attack bonus promotions.. but then, they're just first level heroes :) so maybe not

Hi all,

I agree. My first hero (Bambur) became nearly useless when longbowmen began to garrison ai cities. Even in open field, i needed at least one full turn to recover from HP losses. Nevertheless, he stayed a very usefull unit to destroy some of his opponents. I think that the best thing to do with this first and weak hero is heavily specialize them in one/two task. (e.g : i made my Bambur an archer-killer and a healer for others troops.) Meanwhile, they quickly become weak.

A lizardmen hero ?;)

The Frog.

When I try to install ver. 12b, I get the following error message:

The installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplete.
This could be the result of a damaged disk, a failed download, or a virus.

You may want to contact the author of this installer to obtain a new copy.

It may be possible to skip this check using the /NRC command line switch.
(NOT RECOMMENDED).

I've downloaded the version twice now, with the same result.

It works fine for me, is anyone else having this problem?

Hi Kael and rest of the dev team :)

Some balance things I found

I tried the drown myself recently and saw them in some Multiplayer games.

To be honest, they are quite strong - even far to strong.

Drowns with Str 4 with 2 times Cityattack (including 1th 20% Str boni (10 exp points)) has Str 10...

AIs tend to build Archers very late and even then they are quite weak. Furthermore the drown can cross seas, so need for Ships. Through religion the get a load of free workers (so more time to build drowns) and upgraded to stygian guards they are extreme strong! (a friend told me the can further be uped tu Eidolons :crazyeye:
Moreover they dont need any resource at all, so even if someone has axemans, the chance is quite good that there are some Civs without bronze and so they defend there cities with worriors.

If you take a bit care it is quite easy to wipeout 1, 2 or even more Civ´s (even at emperor Level) and have extrem powerfull Units who can be upgraded further till the end of the game.
If i´am right the drown count as undead, near to no opponent gives attackpower against undead so they are quite dificult to attack.

Perhaps downgrading the drown to Str 3 (like dwarfs and elves) would solve the problem a bit.

I got about 10-20 slaves=worker at my two games (monarch and emperor on large map), so I had no need to build even 1 on my own...
Personaly I think that is a bit very! much. I think you should downgrade the chance to get a slave dramaticaly or remove it totaly.

perhaps downgrading stygian guards to Str 6 (like the vampires) would be a good idea (I think) to. Same here, no need for any ressource and counts as undead so near to no enemy Unit has a bonus against it.

The productivity of the elves is a bit...extrem if you have enough forest around your cities.

but anyway, it is still a wounderfull mod :D
was there once a game called CivIV..? I think it is called Fall from heaven2 und there is a mod called vanilla ;)

hope this helps a bit :)

Kind regards
Bheleu

Yes drown are very strong, BUT:
-they are rather expensive.
-The Archer Problem will be solved in one of the next releases (when i got time to check all the AI upgrades for bugs and if they are working as intended.)
-They are now vulnerable to upgrades on Melee and on Undead (yes two upgrades work against them, and later on the AI will use both if you rely on drown (see point above). And they loose of course usually in direct combat with Axemen. (Bonus vs. Melee)
- Upgrading Drown to Stygian Guards make them to Demons as well (maybe we will change that one and take the undeed away?) Nevertheless at the moment the Drown - Stygian Guards are vulnarable to three promotions (Melee, undead slaying and demon slaying). The water walking STygian guards are nevertheless nice. ;)

When The Warlord Expantion pack comes out will there be a new FfH? If so, will you work on the Warlord FfH or the Original FfH2

Also Nice Dragoons There Cool!!!

I mean Dragons

Ok this current game I'm playing is making me feel stupid. I played Garrim Gyr and founded Runes and made it my state religion. I then got massacred by barbarian axemen because I could not build either Barracks or Dwarven Soldiers. I thought Dwarven Soldiers were like Elven Archers with Leaves and should be buildable if you have a temple? Usually if you have the tech to build them they show up in the city view but are greyed out if you don't have the proper building/resources, right? They don't show up on my list at all. I feel like I'm overlooking something obvious here, but can't figure out what it is.

Quick question... What religion would you say best fits Cambrian Order of blood? I can't decide. I'm thinking that ether The octopus overlords or the Order would fit the specialist heavy strat I got going.

The Luchuirp get their first meleers through the masonry/construction line. The Sculpters studio replaces the barracks.

Its really up to you. We didnt want to limit any of the possible combinations of civilizations, religions and spell spheres.

Acheron is a beast! He spawned when I was playing on a large pangaea map with 9 civs and quickly decimated Hippus and is still going strong working on the Luchirp, taking cities from the strongest civ.

Is he supposed to spawn that early? I often play on crowded maps, so I have not seen him spawn before. Or is he just too powerful maybe?

He's not supposed to be able to move. Somebody must have taught him to walk. The Ai must have fed him enough units to level him up, then he used his promotion to buy mobility and started traveling. Emergent behavior at its best. :D

Enjoy your game, I doubt anyone else has seen a traveling Acheron.
