[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

I just spent 4.5 hours (well, 6.5 if you count a really badly timed crash) downloading a file that is under 500 megs. This isn't 1995 and I shouldn't be downloading at 20k.

Maybe be less snarky and internet tough and consider I might be giving the mod creators some feedback on the limited download options they're giving me.

Did you download today/tonight? I'm located in Los Angeles, have a pretty fast connection.

Oh - attempting to DL the media pack just gives me a tiny corrupt file.

Thats much better.
I'm located in Germany - far away from the host, and I downloaded in 10 minutes. All you have to do is not downloading it during a time the majority is online, so check out when its night in the US and then download it.
Additionally I used Firefox with DTA! plugin - thats a Downloadmanager, that reaches incredible speeds.

これダウンロードさせてください!!

Hello. :)
It is put a patch file in the lower link ahead.
[ 下のリンク先にアップしてあります。 ]

http://stack-style.org/upbbs/upbbs.php?res=295

But the file is for Civ4 of the Japanese edition.
[ ただし このファイルは CIV4 日本語edition 用 です。 ]
I think that I do not move in Civ4 which is not a Japanese edition normally.
[ 日本語edition 以外 では 正常 に 動かない と 思います。 ]

Please please please help!!
I've downloaded FfH2.23b from GameFlood using the download manager and into Mods in Civ4 (as usual). When I try to run it, it tells me it's a file not an application. Have I done something wrong? I've tried everything I can think of but I'm not super computer literate, any ideas?

I believe the download manager (I havent used it) tried to place the file for you. So you probably have a "Fall from Heaven 2 023b.exe" file sitting in your mods directory or in your Civilization IV directory. Just run that exe file to install it.

I had no trouble downloading the files, and the mod runs very well :) I do wish the 18 civ scenario or the 5 Kings scenario could be updated :)

Hi,all.
I have one question.
Earth mana increases the chance of discovering new minerals from mines.
How much probability increases per earth mana?

It took me the whole night to download (more than seven hours) the main file and more for the media pack
I got the THING and consider it was worth the patience
as long as i know that I can stop without losing what has been downloading already, i am happy with the host
combat seems to be tougher; and animals have nearly completely desappeared (apart from teh very early start ...)
thanks to the modding team

Gamesflood with their downloadmanager gives you better speed and a resumeable download (otherwise it would have been impossible with my fragile net connection).

Combat is a bit more interesting now ;)

Yep, it now takes more than two warriors to fend off the Barbarian hordes.

Thanks a million, downloaded the media pack and am well into my first game of .23. I'll be off-line for awhile, but just want to say that I'll miss reading all the discussions in the forum (especially Grey Fox's), strategies (too many contributers to mention but they've all been helpful), occasional disagreements (but oh how darkdoned has helped in the end), and general banter that have made following (and of course playing!) this mod such an event for me. I'll look forward to playing Age of Ice until I return,

Thanks again for everything to everyone involved

Hi, ive jus started playing FfH2 (never played 1), could someone jus give me a quick pointer as to where i can find a guide or something to the difrerent features in FfH2? Things like when i make a settler i get asked if i want it to be a city hub or a settlement, etc.
Thanks

P.S excellent mod!!!!!! :goodjob:

@: Synyster,
the info's kinda spread out a bit, I'd say the best way is focus on just your civ and those that you encounter, in Wiki. great ideas there for strategies (e.g. mages and what they can do), the link's in the first post of this thread.
Enjoy!

I love Cassiel's philosophy (see Civilopedia entry). I obiviously don't know how BtS works but I would like to see the Grigori rewarded through a series of quests/events and the Gates of Heaven open.

What about the Godslayer? Make it the object of a quest. The new owner can use it for "good or ill".

Just thinking. :)

Thanks Melian, wiki was quite good :) Could someone explain the city hub/settlement feature? How come sometimes i get asked which one i want to make & other times it just makes a settlement?

Kuriotate cities can work extra tiles, and so grow larger and more productive. The trade off is that they are limited in the number of these cities that they can build, and all the rest after that point are settlements that don't do much beyond providing culture and a base for your troops (no maintenance there, though.)

It is 3 super-cities on standard size maps, more on larger maps, less on smaller maps.
