[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

Don't tell anybody I said this, but I think the BtS mod/scenario Gods of Old is a FfH ripoff. To be fair, I haven't played it but just read the description. Inquisitors? ;)

FFH2 is a fabulous mod, but I've run into a small problem and am looking for advice/suggestions.
I had a pretty interesting game going about turn 300, of v 0.22f (or 0.22g, not exactly sure which). Then I installed Beyond the Sword, which automatically upgraded base CivIV to 1.74. Now when I load my FFH2 save, my units won't move.

If I install 0.23, will the problem be fixed?
Or is there another work-around?
Can I execute the prior Civ IV patch (?1.65) to fix this?
Or would I need to do a system restore or reinstall of Civ IV to turn things back?

Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks.

0.23 works on Civ 1.74. I never tested 0.22 on it. Installed 0.23 will work for you, but you won't be able to continue your game (games aren't compatible between major versions).

I haven't played either but personally i don't think its a ffh ripoff, just a lame mod that doesn't really do much. Not trying to be mean, i just think that there's a lot of potential in the name, but the mod didn't live up to that potential.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that FFH2 works for Macs. This brings up another question: Can I play a LAN game against my brother on a Windows XP?

Okay...forget that last part for now, I can't download it. Any suggestions? When I click the download link I get "Safari can't open [insert url here] because MAC OS X doesn't recognise internet addresses starting with 'gameflood'."

FfH2 will work on your mac if you use the windows version of Civ4. Either by using bootcamp or some virtualization/emulation software.

It will not function with the macintosh version of civ4, because FfH2 used a modified DLL file, which is unsuported on the Mac.

I have no idea why Safari wouldn't be able to access that site, all I can say is Get Firefox.

Thanks for the help.
If I wanted to play the 0.22 game, do you know if reinstalling the earlier CIV patch (?1.65 I think) would work?

Goddammit, I knew I would have been better off with a pc. My school's system works best with macs, so I got one, and the goddam video card screws with the animations in Civ4, not to mention I can't play FFH2 on it.

Play at a friends,... hot seat :D

And ... HAPPY BIRTHDAY ;)

You clicked on the link for Gameflood's download manager program, not the regular http:// link! It's on the same page but on the right side.

People shouled REALLY read before they click something... ;)

Actually acording to a comment in the javascript it doesn't work to detect gameflood download manager in opera and safari. I know it won't work in opera.
For some reason this is treated as you having the download manager installed instead of treating it as you not having it installed. So you end up with only a gameflood link and not a choice between gameflood or http.

Yeah, I tried clicking both, actually. Neither worked and I got the same error for both.

How exactly do you apply the media file? I loaded up the new version fine however im not sure if something is missing and the Media file does not seem to want to do anything when I run the EXE.

Check if it is ~320 MB, if it's much smaller the download stopped too early leaving behind a broken file (you have to re-download it in that case).

Is there a way to make VALOR spell last longer? Which is the line to change? I would not like to mess it:blush:

<SpellFlavors>

Neither. You want to lower the Spell Expire Chance in the global defines. In the BtS version the spell expire chance will be set per spell so you can modify the chance for valor without effecting the other spells.

Ugh this gameflood manager is soo annoying It wont let me install the media pack saying authorization is not allowed. Any ideas?

Also Has anybody experienced a bug that makes it so unit information wont disappear right away blocking the screen for a few min.
