[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

ok guys im having a problem. when i get in too play fall from heaven 2. im not getting any unit tool bar or any tool bar in the single or multiplayer game. to tell units what to do or any tool bar what so ever.

this problem has been reported earlier, I dont know if this helps, but try switching languages to english and see if you still get the trouble.
If you already use english, then please post which version, which operating system u use, perhaps anything else which makes your computer special, so people know where to look for the error.
 
I have the same Problem when I start a new game or load a save. It helps me when I save the game and reload it, the UI will be back then. I also have to load a save twice till the UI is working. Usually I load a turn 1 Game to get ingame quick and then just load the one I want to play.

I hope this workaround helps a little :)
 
so are any newunits going to be put in the bts verson of the game or are you guys sticking with theold ones?

Its going to have new units. We already checked in some from BtS and the art guys continue to make new units and as they do they are added to the BtS version.

As we get a decent amount of new nits I will probably release a new version of the vanilla version of FfH with updated art (so vanilla players can enjoy the new art too).
 
kael i hope somewone as great as you can bear with me and read my humble suggestion. but could you maybe change the death 1 spell so that theres a percentage chance that any efeated unit will be reserected as a zombie, andin turn this zombie could turn other units into undead? oh eah and thanx for the reply
 
Started playing this mod right after I finished the BtS FfH: Age of Ice. You guys are amazing, really great job.

One question though, what was the reason for preventing lumber mills from being built on ancient forests? Roleplaying?
 
okay i just played fall from heaven II.... omg! this is by a huge margin the best mod i've ever played.

love the new units, even the ripped Daemon from 40k. the music is spot on and really sets off the game.

very slow to start off as everything is expensive, but i like that as it keeps everyone even.
a biiiiiig tech-tree and alot of units.


I gotta say this is awesome, one question though, is there any scenarios like in the first one and is there any maps?

Also is the BTS one gonna be any different? i hope not as it seems and plays perfect.
 
@hossam: probably not. The mechanic you are suggesting is already used with werewolves and I wouldn't want to reuse it.

@jernau: Partially roleplaying (we didnt like that the nature worshipping religion was able to chop down trees) but it was a balance decision as well. Ancient forests are already pretty cool, they would be to good if you could also drop a lumbermill on the tile and we didn't want the Fellowship to be an economic powerhouse.

@silent-lord: Im glad you are having fun with FfH2, but we still have a lot left to do. Two more religions will be coming in "Shadow" (the next phase) as well as events, guilds, some new spell spheres, creatures, etc etc. So yes it will be changing, but not like a whole new redesign (there are no plans for a FfH3) only in adding the things we always wanted to get in.
 
cool im liking this more and more.

im having a slight problem now, not a huge one just annoying.
i played all last night as the Amurite(i think i spelled it wrong) the empire from BTS FfH. however whenever i play as anyone else, 90% of the time the background music is the original, unless i zoom all the way in near a city.

its not a huge problem but its annoying when i have installed the media-pack and theres all that awesome music content.

any ideas to remove the original stuff and have it only play the new tracks?

The soundtrack is dependant on on your state religion. So your going to hear an entirely different set of songs as the Veil then you would from the Overlords. The Orders songs are closest to the normal, so I suspect you are either playing the ORder or you don't have a state religion.
 
im the wood elves people and i have that leaf religion. i get a new soundtrack every now and then, but its mostly the original.

as the amurites i got new soundtracks from humbles beginings to the very end some 500+ turns later.

i've tried the vampires aswell now, again mostly original even when i have the ashen veil religion.

going to try a few others.

First game with FFH and 2nd with Civ4... I'm playing as the Kuriotates and have chosen Octopus Overlords as State Religion. I've read on Civ4wiki that this religion allows to turn settlement into an island, but I haven't catch the way to do it. :confused: Does anyone knows how it could be done?

Thanks for the quick response Kael. I popped a few lumber mills in with world builder and it would pretty much increase their production by a huge margin. Although If everyone had something of a similar strain it would be very interesting watch as a civ develops into a powerhouse later on in the game by modifying its environment for good or bad.
 
Ok, I just download the Mod. By clicking on the link on the first page. It redirects me to a down load site and I download the mod. It said it was 0.23c do I still need to download the patch or media pack? Thanks for the help.
 
hi mate... i don't know but i did. i downloaded the 23version then patched it, and then the media-pack just to be sure.

as the patch might for bug-fixes after the 23 release. better to be safe than sorry and have errors or CTDs

Shadow will not be implemented for vanilla, sorry. You do have a couple months or more to save up the 30$, though.

The religions are the Council of Esus and the Empyreon. (Not too informative, I know, but details are still being decided upon. :))
 
I just downloaded .23 along with the new media pack. When I go in to the game, it says it's 2.23 but it has the vanilla graphics. Any ideas on what may be wrong and what I should do to fix it?

Soudns like oyu may have downloaded the patch (FfH2023c.exe). The patch is only useful if you alreayd have the full 0.23 installed. You will need to download the full 0.23 (FallfromHeaven2023c.exe) and then reinstalled the media pack.
