[MOD] Fall from Heaven II

hey, just wanted to know, are the infernal and the mercurians going to be added in for human play?

They can be played by the human player, but not at the beginning of the game.

The Infernals come into the world the first time a player researches Infernal Pact. A human player who's the first to research Infernal Pact is given the option of switching from his civ and taking control of the Infernals.

The Mercurians are summoned into the world by the civ that builds the Mercurian Gate. Again, if that's a human player, the player is given the option of taking over the Mercurians. The Mercurians will always be in a permanent alliance with the civ that summons them.

OK... I KNOW that this isn't a "mods" threat, but I always get ready responses from you folk so here goes (tell me go to blazes if so desired!!!).

I downloaded some "mod" items from the CivFanatics threads that I thought would make some nice additions to the game -- cocoa, shrimp, etc. However, going into the "zip", I saw that there were no "button" icons to see for them. How do you guys get the buttons (both city icons and icons used in the WorldBuilder) you use for this mod -- create them yourself or go to some other web site? Also, once you have the appropriate images, how the heck do you get them into the appropriate files so that they show up on the city screen?

Thanks!!! Sorry for being a pest...

Its probably best to create a new thread in the Creation & Customization forum to ask questions like this instead of hijacking the FfH thread.

While I was on a flight for British Airways, technically Quantas, they do that little "Donate Spare Change to Unicef" thing at the end of the flight. Having played FfH on the plane, I took out my sharpie and a five, wrote "Moving the AC counter down by one" on it and donated it.

The guy behind me saw this, laughed to himself, and said "Make it two points", and donated something as well.

I seriously wonder where that $5USD went, and whether anybody at the Unicef counting facility will get the allusion, but it makes me smile none the less. Just thought I'd share that moment with you all.

My apologies, Kael... Only time I ever hear from you is when I screw up.

I'll be honest, I went to "Civ 4 -- Creation and Customization" and went through the list. I wasn't sure I saw an entry where you could ask questions. I read the description of each link and none of them sounded like what I wanted...???

what about making your own thread?

I'm not quite sure what you mean...??? I'm certainly looking for help. I'm sure that there is probably SOMEPLACE that explains how to use (and load icons for) all the great stuff that is available in CivFanatics; I'm just not quite sure where to look since I couldn't see anything that jumped out at me in the "Creation and Customization" thread referenced by Kael.

There's so much dependent on getting the artwork available and in the correct location. I can certainly place it if they are in a folder, but the icons are in "dds" and (from what I understand) "tga" items. While I can at least look at the "dds" items, I don't have a tool to edit them -- even if I had the icons to place into them. So far as the "tga" items, I don't even have a viewer. I get so frustated "surfing the net" looking for this crap since everyone wants either money or for you to sign up for their web site.

I'm more than willing to go to a different thread -- I just need to know where to go (and keep it decent!!! This is a public thread...

I meant you can open an own thread in "creation and customization" and ask for help there, there will be more people that can help you than in this ffh2 specific thread

you don't necessarily have to post in a thread, you can create one yourself.

"new thread" is on the left of the page, above all the threads already listed. creating a new thread will probably be the easier way to get people to help you.

edit: ninjaed :D

Hi, I downloaded the Mod today, good work

I have a question though
One of the dwarf civs I think has an ability to try and make all flat land controlled into hills(i forget its percentage of succes) but anyways Im wondering if the dwarf civs have some kind of bonus for having hills or having mines compared to other civs?

The Khazad's world spell will turn some flat lands into hills (and give extra gold). Remember that the world spell is useable once per GAME, though, so use it wisely!

Best wishes,

Breunor

Unless you complete the Birthright Regained Ritual. Then you can cast your World Spell a second time. :)

We were playing multiplayer 2 player. I had the alters that you build with great prophets completed. I thought you needed another prophet to build the last one so I had one I saved until I completed omnicience (sp) but it would not let me build the Alter VII it said I needed exalted alter. I didn't think it took 6 phrophets.... maybe it did. I thought I only let me sacrifice 4 or 5.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong. I'm the Elohim it would take me 40 ish turns to build the alter if it would let me. All I would have to do is survive for 10 ish turns and cast my world spell to win.

The last one you have to build the hard way.

That I realized even though I had a prophet ready to go. The option to build is greyed out says I need the exalted alter. I assumed it had to be built in the city where you built all the alters or maybe the capitol but no luck. It says it would take 40ish turns to build if it would let me. With the Elohims world spell no one could touch me for 30 turns if I cast it so I would like to win that way.
