Mod Install Text Error

So I just got a new laptop, a Dell Inspiron 1500 series (windows 8) and I installed a few mods. My problem is that every mod I install seems to have text issues that make it harder to play the game. I've attached a picture below with an example from the MEM II mod. Note things like "Wake Transported" instead of "Wake All" or the bar on the bottom right that has all sorts of problems.

Game play doesn't seem to be affected, so no crashes, but things are all distorted. On the scenario menu to open it up instead of showing civ traits it says things like "Commercial, Flavor1" and sometimes difficulty levels aren't named right. The main screen gets shifted (so Hall of Fame is actually Scenarios). In game things get messed up (see picture, Change Production is incorrectly labeled "Hurry Production")

The preferences screen I don't know what is what, but its all mixed up. The sad part is all the functions are normal. So if I click Hurry Production it allows me to change production, etc... I wanted to know if there was a way to fix this. I've properly installed the mods, I've done install and reinstall several times and its always the same.

Thanks for any help!

PS-I'm running CivIII through steam. On my old computer I ran it through steam just fine, but on this laptop things get jumbled.

At the end of the post you can read (at least) a part of the answer:

The RARR mainfile holds in its text-folder a Firaxis/Steam-Patch for the single mods/scenarios run under the spoiled update of the Steam version of Civ Complete. The RARR mainfile will be updated (hopefully) at the end of next weekend.

What exactly did you do to patch it? It would be nice to do a fix like this to all the mods that I have installed.

This stands all in the linked text I gave to you. In the labels text file you must add a new line with wordpad (or another texteditor) between the entries Ping and Host and name that line Unknown. Here is the linked text:

The last update of the Steam version of Civ Complete by Steam/Firaxis added a new line between "PING" and "Host" (line 86) to the labels text that just says "Unknown". Of course this messed up the labeling of buttons for C3C mods/scenarios with own labels texts (as it is the case with RARR). If you have problems with messed up labeling of buttons at the start of RARR and use the Steam version of Civ Complete you can try the following patch:

1. Go to the text folder inside the RARR mod.
2. Rename the textfile labels to labels1 (or something like that).
3. Rename the textfile labels-Steam CivComplete Patch to labels.

Thanks! I had done that but I didn't realize that the MEM II mod has like 3 different labels files and I hadn't edited them all. You're a life saver, Civinator!
