MOD PREVIEW: Karhgath's Earth

well, since you are using the DyP Map and resources why not also include the DyP Civs? Those would be; Ethiopia, Inca, Mali, Polynesia, Siam, Sioux, and Tibet. I know Kal-el picked those civs partly because he felt there was not enough representation in those parts of the map.

Or you could wait til Conquests comes out and grab some of their leaderheads. I know there is going to be a Mayan Civ in C3C. Don't know about the Sioux though. I haven't heard anything that would indicate that they are included in Conquests.

Well the problem is, I don't like DyP as a whole. A lot of cool things I like, but I think it's a bit much and lacks the simplicity of civ3, and misses some accuracy. Don't get me wrong, it's a great mod, fun and all, but I want to go the minimalistic way and I don't want to just copy Kal-El's opus. I'm inluding maybe 4-5 new resources only, and some other ideas from DyP(and lots of other mods too), but I don't want to steal too much from DyP either, hehe. The Inca and Sioux are, I think, very popular and fitting civ(I didn't even knew DyP had them, haha, they have so much stuff anyway), but I don't want to rip Kal-El too much either =)

For now I'm going to use only appropriate leaderheads, from civ3 or good quality animated ones from the community, or just wait for Conquest if I know they will be there.

Any other race suggestions beside the DyP ones? Polynesian might be cool... but we all know that island civs are a ***** so I'd rather have a continental one.

If you look in the various "C3C Civs" threads, there's any number of new civilizations suggested. I'd like to make a special plea for the Khmers; today's Cambodia may be tiny, but in the middle ages they had the largest empire ever in SE Asia, and at least the Angkor Thom, one of the huge temple-complexes in the old capital Angkor, should have as much recognition-value as anything in the region ('xcept, perhaps, Phuket!).

I'd be interested in being a tester, and could help with research. Might even be willing to learn to write Civilopaedia entries ...

Well, the Khmers might be an idea, would fill the gap in southeast asia, I'd prefer that over polynesians.

As for pedias, with the civilopedia editor, it isn't very hard to add entries, you don't need to know the exact format of the file =)

Kal-el's Opus
That is hilarious. :) Great description of the beast that is DyP. The Khmer would be a good civ to add. You can look in TETurkhan's ToT mod for an example of them in Civ3.

Ok, added the Khmers... will need extra city list and leaders tho =)

BTW Nder, you said DyP had the Sioux... but as far as I know, they didn't added any new civs... do you know of any other mod who added Sioux(damn search function is down...)
BTW, officially changed the name of the mod to "Conquer the Earth".

Bump.

Isn't "Conquer the Earth" a bit militaristic-sounding? If poor in-jokes are allowed, I suggest "The Omniterranean Challenge"! :) "Earth: the Global Challenge", perhaps? "Earth of Empires"? "The Earth Civilized"?
