Excellent! A truly great modernization of poor old Rjak. I've run out criticism and suggestions. :lol:

Kiss your sister for me, will ya'? ;)

That Rjak-dude looks quite nice :thumbsup:

My only suggestion (well, not exactly a suggestion, but an idea) would be to change the background color to reflect the mood: more blue & green when happy, smoothly transforming to yellow and red when getting angry. Though I'm not sure if that can be done with the prog your sister uses Ed.

Here is completed Rjak, by e-dead & Co. ;)

@aaglo
We use Poser, and I don't think it's possible in this program (which isn't a real 3d software). Of course I might be wrong as always... but the only things that come to my mind are workarounds which won't really give a nice effect like putting 3 pictures behind and fading them in and out with transparencies, or simple lights changing, which would look even more dull.

Very nice. This will be an interesting mod and I will enjoy playing it.

@e.d & co

Thank you so much! It's great! I'm replacing my Witch King as I type. (quite a feat 'eh?)

Only problem is that now I want more. Maybe I need to pick up Poser again. I have very good leaderheads at the moment, but it would be nice to have more wizards from Master of Magic.

@tjedge

I do hope it'll be that. I played a game today to second age and did some adjustments and fixes according to it. Game played fine apart from the techs being too cheap and some mistakes like inland harbors and air units that picked up more speed from roads. I did get a good start and I was playing Warlord (I'm crap at Civ), but my life as a nature mage was still a bit too easy.

So, there's still some balancing to be done prior beta. I want to get rid of the biggest imbalances myself. However, the mod is coming along pretty nicely - I actually don't have much stuff to add: tweak things here and there, hopefully replace placeholder units and playtest.

Meet the new nature mage, Beorn:

Beorn_preview.jpg

He will replace my Samwise who was never very fitting in a role of a wizard. Beorn was a very quick leaderhead to do and it unfortunately shows a bit. :( There never was a mage called Beorn in Master of Magic. I was actually trying to make Tauron, but got frustrated and started turning him into this.

I really should upgrade to Michael. Is that Daz|Studio offer that included Michael still alive? Edit: seems to be, but the download link doesn't work. Also, it seems to be without content (m2/v2?) as earlier releases have working content. However, I can't find those earlier releases anywhere. Oh well, gotta look again when I have more time.

Good news. If all goes well, beta should be available at CFC sometime tomorrow. [dance]

Can't believe it actually. Dates of my earliest design files suggest that I started this thing six weeks ago and now I have a fully working beta that has a vast majority of all the planned features. :) I've been busy (and neglecting some responsibilities)

However, I could've done nothing without the magnificient creations done by the people on these forums. This might be a good time to thank all those whose work I use in the mod. I will have a full credit list for the final release, but for now, let's just say that you know who you are. Some names that simply have to be mentioned though are Embryodead, Kinboat, Aaglo, Kindred72, Utahjazz7, Snoopy, Gael and mrtn. I hope any of you won't mind about the few palette-edits I've done to some of your creations in order to fill in the gaps in available graphics. If you have an objection to this, I'll naturally remove the creation in question ASAP.

But, like I said, beta should be available tomorrow. It's somewhere around 130 megs and it is packed with RAR, not ZIP. Hope you people check it out. :)

:eek: I've been working on the Magnamund Mod to and fro for about a year. Some people are more efficient than others...

Do I feel like the poodle among the Grand Danois', or what? :D
Well, another reason to clean up some HD space.

Have you the leaderheads in the Net Art folder? That's saving some space, at least.

Well, foundation for the creative work had already been laid. I've been toying with this idea for some time, but hadn't put anything down in writing. And I really have been sitting in front of my computer too much lately. I guess I wanted to get this done as quickly as possible. After all, getting married in June and spending the next six weeks after that cruising Route 66 and Pacific Coast Highway. ;) I have a feeling I'll be pretty occupied with organizing and such in later spring so the time to do this was definitely now. :lol:

At the moment, no. I'll check it out today though. Flics are 88MB so it would definitely be useful.

Good idea. Once married your free time is cut to a tenth of what it used to be. That being said, you have other things to do and not all that bad. :groucho: Congrats Drift and good luck. Hope your marriage is as perfect as mine. :love2: Between my job and my wife I have very little time when I could have had this finished a month ago, now it drags along until I get my laptop, then I will have plenty of time.

Although 6 weeks is pretty fast.

Hey, PCH, did you hear that? Your campaign is bearing fruit. :D

Well, if you use some of the flics embryodead use, and I use some you use, and tjedge1 use some I use, and so on, we could save some space by being organised. :)

BTW, we demand that you get a digital camera to take some pics of the wedding for us. :D And personal invitations, of course. ;)

Thunderfall is busy and hasn't yet replied to my ftp account request. I'll upload the beta as soon as I hear from him.

In the meantime I played another test game as a nature mage and really liked the way it played. I think I now have the tech costs at least close to what they should be. Some improvements were too cheap though. Faction balance seems ok when played by the computer, only one mage was falling behind and she didn't have contact to other mages than me. The system of "race resources" feels very good - for example Rjak was attacking Beorn with men, orcs and undead.

However, there are some potentially unbalancing features (for example, nature mages can irrigate without fresh water) and I'm not sure how human player can utilize them. I'm not really good enough Civ player to find out myself. That's where you people step in. ;)

I'll probably upload two leaderhead packs: one with all leaders and one with just the ones that aren't used in WH-mod. I believe majority of my audience has installed WH-mod so no need to waste their bandwith with leaderheads they already have in Net Art.

I already have a digital camera and a 256MB memory card. Let's see if it's enough for the wedding. ;) I'll post some pics after our Tour de America is over.

Personal invitations I unfortunately can't do. But if you want to come uninvited after the ceremonies are over and some people are already leaving, that's okay. We plan to party long into the night. :lol:
