[MOD] The Second Revolution!

GarretSidzaka, I liked your old avatar better. Scared kittys are funny!

okay, okay, maybe not such a reactionary bush one.

Anyway:

Check out the preliminary map (70X65):

The old one was like 80X75, a little on the HUGE side. I shrank the map size for all yall who have crappy computers that take 30 minutes to load the senario ;)

Ohhh, pretty map! Looks geographicaly accurate and smaller. Cool. (And I didn't find the Bush avatar offensive; I hate bush, but I just thought kittys were cooler and more uniqe.)

I dont think it will haunt you later, unless your cities' regions get too bombed to produce. But i recommend building a few workers and replace them as they get killed or stolen (which happened alot to me.)

It actually didn't matter much for most places but it really screwed up New York as every improvement got destroyed and even protecting the worker with 10 units was not enough to last 1 turn! New York went into shutdown and wouldn't produce anything, shriveling to a 6 size.

later in the game, the alliances get wierd, coz i didnt lock them.

The unlocked alliances has actually worked to my advantage. I made peace with Mexico before we even fought and made peace with Harper after capturing Edmonton, Calgary and the West Coast. I also made a 10 turn peace with Bush after I finally connected Survivalists & Topeka to the West Coast to allow my workers to rebuild in peace, reduce war weariness and rebuild my army after Bush started cranking out mobile SAM which I am having the hardest time to get rid of!

Before I restarted the war against Bush, there was actually complete peace: everybody was at peace with everybody and I even had to give cash to Marcos & Castro to restart the war with Bush.

I like your idea on changing the color, what color do you recommend?

Being Canadian, it feels to me Canada should be red... but you seem quite attached to Castro so suggesting to remove the red from him might be sacrilege to you ;)

I'll have to start a vanilla game with all 18 civs to see what good colours are available but I think white for the rebels would be cool and contrasting with the Bush blue.

A couple of questions if I may:
What did you plan religions to do in your mod?
After they all appeared in the same turn, I have only found them useful to bring a bit more happiness to your cities by building temples and such.
Also, I might be missing something but I have been unable to set up one of them as my state religion.

- Is there an end time to the scenario? I'm in December 07 now and it would be a bummer to have it end before I completely own North America!

The music adds so much to this mod... sometimes I leave the game on when I have other stuff to do just so I still hear the songs!

I'm thinking of reworking religions into political belief systems. This would be mostly for fun and not exactly practical! You could have a 'state belief' i guess ;)
There is no end time to this scenario, as i have found that all of the firaxis ones have this, and makes me never ever play them.

The political religion (belief) could be the 'party line' or something.

How are the Civics coming along?

It's probably too wacky for such a cool serious mod but I was thinking that some fringe religions would be funny:

Billy Graham wacky preacher type
Gaia return to nature, tree huggers
Snake Handlers
Amish people
Raelians or some other extraterrestrial religion
Voodoo cult

Have Cuba be bright red and Canada darker red (the two rarely encounter one another, save for MADD). Blue for Amerika would be nice, I can't think of a color for the ELZN or the Syndicalists, maybe black and grey white?

-edit-
Now that I think about it, the Syndicalists could be green!
-edit2-
Hmm, then Mexico might have to be green and let the Syndicalists be a darker green

The easiest way to arrange the colors is to take the six most different colors (red, blue, yellow, orange, purple, and green) and divide them across the nations. The way I would assign those colors would be red for Casto, orange for Bush, blue for Harper, yellow for Fox (Fox, that yellow may be hard to see on the white background), purple for Marcos, and green for the rebels. The arrangement could be different, but that set of colors will make sure that it's easy to see all the sides. Each nation will have a distinctly different color.

The colors i want locked in are: USA blue for bush, the bright green for mexico, and red for castro. this are the only colors i find appropriate for these civs, and they are nice contrasting colors.
the other three i have had complaints like the black for rebels was hard to see

:twitch: its too early this morning to be awake im so tired.... :(

Orange Harper, Dark Green Syndicalists, Brown ELZN ?

i have had a problem which will hopefully resolved soon: elder scrolls Oblivion on an alienware :crazyeye:

Ahhhhh, always a tough one to get past, I'd suggest pwning them up and down.

My favorite character has been my monk-mage, who had all of the mage skills, except for alchemy, which was replaced by hand-to-hand.

Oh yeah, great defense buffs + kung-fu = pwnage

Galvanized, eh? Sounds legit! :D Can you share with us some ideas for effects of these civics?

Would castro be characterized as 'personalistic' or what?

I suppose you want to keep this thread nonpolitical so you taliban types can have a place to feel good about your misery. If you ever looked up anything but left wing media you might have a real idea what’s going on in the world. The left in this country is responsible for most of the body bags in this deal up to and including 911 much less the current situation. The constant tirade from the left since their flop in the last election has given nothing but confidence and support for our enemies, heck you might as well send our enemies cash and fighters. Keep up the great work trashing America on the left (sarcasm).
