The eighth episode of ModCast is here, an official podcast of Apolyton Civilization Site (ACS). "Nice Nipples" (46m03s) features the four core panelists Wouter "Locutus" Snijders, Tony "GarretSidzaka" Kiehl, Kenneth "Impaler[WrG]" Ferland and Oscar "Elhoim" Velzi as well as guest host James "NikNaks93" Nicholls.

ModCast is a bi-weekly ~45-minute audio production of Apolyton Civilization Site and is an ongoing effort to give the Civ community an interactive voice on Civilization modding; its sibling show PolyCast focuses on Civ strategy. To date, ACS is the only community on the web to produce its own Civilization podcasts.

Summary of Topics:

- 02m28s | News
We talk about Brad Wardell, of Stardock and Galactic Civilizations II fame, being interviewed on GFW Radio (show of 04/02/2008) (detailed text summary).
- 12m31s | Artist Sketchpad
Discussing NikNaks93's Meso-American and Native American Explorers, the Tuskaloosa leaderhead by johny smith (as well as a different version by mourndraken), and Ekmek's Akbar the Great leader and Venetian civilization.
- 31m51s | Code Corner
Looking at a new map making tool called simply Civ4 Map Maker by sarysa and Shype's Vicinity Bonus mod (as well as the pronunciation of his name).
- **m**s | Spotlight
Unfortunately due to loss of net connection by our guest James "NikNaks93" Nicholls, the Spotlight on his modding work (which includes the World of Civilization Project) had to be canceled. We promise we'll try to get him back on the show soon!

Has the next modcast been recorded yet? Who's in it? What's discussed?

Cool episode guys. Thanks again for the mention and for covering my vicinity bonus modcomp, you *beep* *beep* *beep* *beep*s.

At 40:00 into the .mp3, the guy that says "I think you're supposed to pronounce it shqyp, actually" (is that Wouter?) got the closest. Just add an "eh" sound at the end, with more emphasis on the "y," and you've got it.

I've edited the post linked in my sig to directly link to the .mp3 files (I never deleted it, angelfire must have reached maximum bandwidth), but anyway in this post I've attached a .zip of the 2 .mp3 files as well just in case.

The .zip with the audio files are found in this post: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=6772611&postcount=16

For some reason, they don't reproduce when I open them...

I guess I'll never know how to pronounce it. :crazyeye:

In my above post I have included both .mp3 files in a .zip as an attachment which will allow you to hear exactly how it is pronounced. :)

I guess we all understood that. And also that the files you uploaded are not playable ;)

Please retry, because they work fine on my computer... they're in .mp3 format but one shouldn't have a problem playing them; unless the .zip was corrupted somehow.

You can try to download and play it... it's seems corrupted enough.

Shqype,
Glad I got the name almost right anyway :) Now to teach those ignorant Americans... ;)

The files really aren't there on Angelfire, or if they are they're not publicly accessible. If you open the files you attached in a text editor you'll see that they're not actually MP3s but HTML files that give a 404 error :) Downloading the files from Angelfire probably works for you because you have the files stored in your local browser or ISP cache, but they're really not there for the rest of us.

Dumb mistake on my part, but this time I FINALLY got it (I promise!):

I know his real name and that is a hell of a lot easier to pronounce, so I just use that :)
