Modified Scenarios Workshop

I'll make a transport ship btw

Thank you very much

I've checked a couple of books I have by the Funckens called the Lace Wars, which is a detailed study of the uniforms of the 1700s. It states that uhlans / ulans were originally Polish-Lithuanian tatar cavalty; official regiments of uhlans were incorporated into the Polish-Saxon army in the 1720s and spread to neighbouring countries in the 1740s. Prussia had a regiment in 1740 and Austria not until the 1770s, so the use of the Lancers in this scenario is probably erroneous. I wouldn't worry about it too much though :)

Any recommendation for a substitution? It is that 40 years away does seem like a failure on the scenario

I don't think so really - the scenario covers the main cavalry types for all nations (generally cuirassiers, horse and dragoons and Prussia had no cuirassiers during this period). I'd ignore it as the rest of the scenario is very good. There were certainly irregular tatar cavalry around at this time in Poland so its not a stretch to imagine them in the pay of Brandenburg-Prussia. Indeed, Prussia's first uhlan regiment were ex-Polish troops.

Here's the transport ships, loosely based on pics of East Indiamen of the time

Although they are minor changes, I include the latest version of "Casus Belli: Magna Bellum Borealis 1700-1721" by Vegard Bjørketun (ToT conversion by Catfish) with the modifications that I have made in play evolution.

Does anyone have a copy of Michael H. Nielson's Desert Storm scenario? I'd love the chance to play that again (especially if it wa updated and converted), but I don't know where to find a copy.

I don't know if Michael H. Nielson is INSURGENT 2001. But I upload the only full Desert Storm scenario I have. Cheers

No, that doesn't seem to be the exact one I was referencing, but it'll do to get my Gulf War fix. Much appreciated :)

I would appreciate it if @McMonkey's A Soaring Spirit were converted to ToT. Several of the house rules could be fairly easily turned into game mechanics with Lua and a few events improved. I think it would make a decent example of code and conversion and not be too much work.

McMonkey's A Soaring Spirit scenario to ToT. I couldn't help but include some of the Fairline and Tanelorn graphics :mischief:.

What you seek is GULFWAR. Here it is...

I've also done this conversion to ToT, but many of the drives have been left with no association to city or None (With what with time they will disappear from the scenario), which is a complication, and it is very mechanical and heavy work.
But I'm getting lazy. And it's a shame because Fairline has almost all the graphics. Is anyone encouraged to finish the conversion?

What would I need to do? I'm not sure I follow you.

Thanks for converting Soaring Spirit Petit :)

Here's my take on the units: I used a consistent style of pose between 'archaic' and 'classical' hoplites and made them suitable for the civs they represent. I placed 'takabara' and 'sparabara' in the right slots, used a pic of Lydian for a Lydian, replaced later Hellenistic helmets for classical ones, stuck a later pic of the petasos cap on Tanelorn's units which were using an earlier one I drew, and a few other bits and bobs.
