Modified Scenarios Workshop

Sounds great, gapetit! You're doing a good job here! :)

First let me say what a godsend these conversions are to Civ2 modding—several of these scenarios I'd never even heard of before!

If you take requests, there's an old prewar Europe scenario called "History" I've always liked, and that's just dying for a ToT expansion (as well as a few fixes). It's listed on the old Civ2 downloads section; direct links here.

I also have a scenario called "Colonialism"; it's so obscure I don't even remember where I found it, and there's no author information included. I've attached it if you're interested (sounds are my addition).

Has Exodus (that old First Arab-Israeli War scenario) every been converted? If so, I can't find it on this thread. If not, might I make a humble request to at least add it to the docket, if off no higher priority than the others on the list?

There are so many excellent MGE scenarios waiting for conversion. It would take years for Gapetit to convert them all! What he's already done is amazing.

By the way, there are a lot of good oldies people don't know about because they were never uploaded to CivFanatics. For example, the scenarios by Eyn and Ambra are well-crafted and enjoyable to play.

That was made by Jamestout. It can be found at the Scenario League site. He has several other scenarios (which, in my opinion, are more interesting than this "Colonialism" one), and they are all good candidates for conversion.

Gapetit,

I have a question on the Colonies IV scenario ToT conversion. It's running great, but for some reason, the slave unit (equivalent to engineers) can not transform swamp and jungle terrain to plantations. I've looked at the rules.txt file, and compared it to a scenario in which transforming is working, and everything looks the same.

Any ideas please? Thanks!

Have you checked the rules.txt, at the @terrains section, to see if transformation is allowed on those tile types?

I like back from vacation and seeing so many interventions.
The reason, Thorvald of Lym, there are scenarios that do not know is that I have saved scenarios of pages that no longer exist ... which does not mean that I have done all scenarios. For example I did not know Ambra (thanks minipow01).
The "History" scenario seems to me an excellent choice and I hope to add in the near future. The "Colonialism" is not dark for me, because I remember when Jamestout added this and other scenarios or graphs cities. And I agree with minipow01 are all excellent candidates. Why I not adapted to any ToT? For my obsession with quality graphics Fairline units and adaptations of Tanelorn and others, and in all James scenarios there are units not created by them. For now.
I think people with ability to create a scenario (Kobayashi return is excellent news) or make good graphics, the complexity and dedication, is very scarce and therefore I appreciate both your contributions.
But I think that all depends level units originally Fairline and adaptations mainly Tanelorn, and sporadically Typhoon, Broken Erika, civ2units, Curt Sibling and I myself :p
It is a shame that high-quality scenarios adapted by Catfish, years ago, not have the graphics they deserve. I hope Curt, for the quality of its adaptations, be encouraged in these scenarios. I tried it and no way to finish any of the Catfish or the Eyn (already passed by the same TOT).
So I will be adding James scenarios with the original graphics.
I had never written in English a lot, and I think I can not anymore ... but first: plainsfire, I have found that ground level there are no changes between the original and adaptation, but I'll look more calmly.
Patine I add another to the list.
And thanks very much for your support. :hatsoff:

Thank you very much for your support :mischief:, and more than two classics that continue giving life to Civ-2 :hatsoff:
Two very good choices Techumseh
And I take this opportunity to send one of the most innovative work for its time, and shows that the author not only creates incredible fantasy scenarios and World War II: Kaiser by Curt Sibling, so that I fulfill one of plainsfire requests. La Belle Epoque hope end once :undecide:
With my projects and requests for Patine I have for a long time.
Add a fairly simple scenario, that with Fairline and Tanelorn units, I did add more and more units to make it more difficult playing like Russia ... do not know what will seem the result: Chechnya by JAPR

Very late I've been playing the Spanish Civil War by PABLOSTUKA and McMONKEY, v.2 for ToTPP and I can only say that is an incredible scenario, with much pace, historical rigor and graphics magnificent by FAIRLINE. Very good work :goodjob: :hatsoff:
I temporarily add small changes I made on scenario: in Game: Arriba España! by Viva la Republica!, in Rules new wonder SRI (University City was repeated) and improved I-16; new graphics Icons and modification of four units. Very simple changes to an almost perfect scenario. Thank you very much McMonkey and Fairline.

I also included temporarily my changes during the game (graphics and events) of Bulgarian crisis 1997 by Strelok22. I hope it will serve for his future latest version. The exciting counterattacks of SCW in McMonkey version served me an example, and considered that the possession of industrial city should increase arms potential.

And also add a scenario that SCW had made me forget: Great Napoleonic Wars by W.I.N.T.E.R., ToT version.

I'm glad you enjoyed SWC gapetit. It truly is a collaboration between myself, Fairline and Pablostuka as well as many others. Though there are still small changes I would like to make it is very satisfying to have at least one scenario I can truly consider the finished article. I will take a look at your changes and when I get around to making an updated version I will try and incorporate them.

:goodjob:

Ah cool, I have fond memories of playing PBEMs of Winters GNB. I would so love to PBEM it again but finding several active civ2 players now a days... yeesh.

I'm always up for a PBEM game Voltar. Used to absolutely love the epic games at Civ Webring with the likes of Cobra, Jerec, Battosai, Civi, Radyserb and the rest. It did get frustrating when people disapeared mid game and things broke down, especially if I felt I was gaining an advantage :D We always used to play MGE. It would be interesting to try out some of the more recent ToT conversions.

I believe I only actually recognize the names Cobra and Radyserb from that list you gave. There seems to be a long of list of Civ2 alumni who seem to have moved on to other things in life (or just gotten incredibly busy).

I never did PBEMs on that site, probably to my detriment but I played via Apolyton and here.

Welp for GNB I recall you normally need 5 peeps with Ottomans and Neutrals on AI.
Never played em on ToT either, I recall with MGE we all needed that program that ends turns so the AI doesn't move fortified units and such? Otherwise it was all pretty straightforward posting of .net saves.

Gapetit, I just want to say how fantastic your work is! I thank you for all your work.

I would like to request a couple more conversions, the Blitzkrieg series, please. Especially the 1936 one. Pretty please?

THANKS!!!
