modify the map in an existing game ?

Is there a way to modify the map in an existing game? Turns out my coastal city is on an inland sea.. on the other side there is a very narrow line of land keeping me from the open ocean. I want to remove one of those tiles of land so I can get out there and explore. How can I do this?

It is possible that someone made a mod for it. But I do not know anything about that

I was wanting the same thing. In Civ 5 there was an In Game Editor [IGE] that could do many things and that was one of them. I can't remember who made it but that was the single most useful editing mod I had. Maybe they'll reproduce it for Civ 6.

And Civ IV didn't even need a mod for that.

Yes, I've been thinking about tracking down the author of IGE and asking if they are working on one for Civ 6. I expect the answer will be "not until the official modding tools are out" at best.
