Why the hell cant we build rivers and watermills in every tile? Las Vegas is built on a dessert, it is historically accurate to have watermills everywhere.
Workboats and ships should be able to build watermills on watertiles too, its called WATERmill for a reason. Even the steamboat has a watermill on it.

Question: For the Modern Infantry unit, would people rather have the graphics from the Vanilla Navy SEAL used or the custom made ones for the Earth 2010 mod?
 
So I spent the last half hour desperately trying to get the Modern Infantry unit to work without success, becoming increasingly more ticked off, because by all accounts it should work. I did nothing different than what I did for the Heavy Horseman which works just fine, but for some reason Modern Infantry wouldn't even show up in the Civilopedia. After experimenting with art assets and determining that to not be the issue, I went over every little thing to check what I did wrong, and lo and behold, it was something incredibly obvious: I accidentally put the unit tag for Modern Infantry between </UnitInfos> and </Civ4UnitInfos> instead of before them. The lack of an XML error message when starting the game led me down a wild goose chase because I figured "nah the XML is fine, it has to be the art defines!".

Oh well, at least I got this euphoric feeling you get whenever you solve a complex mathematical equation out of it.
 
So I take it the maps are all perfectly fine since I haven't heard any specific complaints? No need to add any resources? Alrighty then, sure suits me!

I was unexpectedly productive the past few hours and got pretty much all changes done I wanted to implement, which means you can expect an update within the next 50 hours. All that's left to do is tune some civ modifiers once I find out where those actually are and figure out what to do with drafting in relation to Rifles, Infantry and Modern Infantry.

Btw I gave double production speed for Public Transportation and Laboratory to Central Planning because if I add buffs one by one instead of all at once people are probably not gonna notice that it's OP until it's too late just look at the Soviet Union and subways and space programs etc.

Anyway, does anyone know what happens if you are the first to research Liberalism and already have all other Renaissance and older techs? Does the game crash? Don't you get a free tech? Do you get to choose an Industrial tech? I know this is a very unlikely situation, but it is theoretically possible. It is also relevant because I plan on moving the free tech for first to discover to Scientific Method instead, and that is at the end of an era rather than the beginning of one.

Also Education should be medieval, not Renaissance.
 
If I recall the implementation correctly, you should get an empty selection screen. That could cause problems because I don't think there is a cancel button.

Hm, then I see two possibilities to address this possibility when giving that effect to SciMeth: Either make it an Industrial tech or make Physics a Renaissance tech.

I tested this with Worldbuilder, and I got no popup, no free tech, nada, even though the game declared me to be the first to Liberalism. Nevertheless I am moving Scientific Method to the Industrial Era just to be sure.

Edit: *checks modmodding Q&A thread and finds out that he need to compile a DLL in order to change any civ modifiers* Aw nuts... You guys like tanks in the 1800s, right? Good, me too. :lol:
