It's still 20:30 local time, 29th of December 2008. That means I got it right under the deadline. HA!

Congratulations Hikaro, you won the LH competition by default... ;) :trophy:

After the December competitions... ;)

After three years of organizing competitions, I feel it is time to move on. I had a lot of fun doing it and am grateful for all the enthusiasm, submissions and passionate discussions we had here.
Kind of funny if read the first reactions in the original thread when I first mentioned the idea of a monthly competition...

Anyway thanks to all of you! And if anyone wants to take over the competitions, feel free to go ahead... :)

Thank you for all the time and effort you put into these competitions, Flamand. It was very generous of you to do this.:)

:hatsoff:

(I hope that you are not leaving the forums, just the competitions.)

Flamand, do you have planned who (if any one person) will take over the competitions? Will you still be attending to the Hall of Fame?
Thank you so much for the competitions! I too hope you're still staying on the forums.

I will still pop up here once in a while! ;)
As for the competitions I would like to give it all out of hands.

Thank you for organizing these competitions Flamand! They are/were a lot of fun. I think it was a great idea! It really added a lot of character to the forums and to unit making. I'm sad to see you go, although I hope you will drop in occasionally. :)

Thanks for all your work on these, Flamand! They have definitely added interest to the forum, and also to the sheer process of planning and making files to post here. I think it has often been the case that someone has gone the extra mile or even taken on a particularly challenging project simply to have something impressive to enter into the competitions.

Odd that I remember that thread, and I'm sure I was a moderator then, and yet there appear to be no infractions in it... someone got lucky. Don't try to replicate that sort of thing, kids.

Is it possible for a moderator transfer the Hall of Fame thread to another person.

I'm not sure what you mean by transferring a thread from one person to another. No individual "owns" a thread. If you mean making it so that someone else can edit Flamand's posts, that's not possible - only moderators can do that. If a non-moderator takes over the competition organising then they should start a new thread and copy over the information from Flamand's into their own OP there.

Well, then I guess we should see what Hikaro's intentions are for the Hall of Fame.

And then someone (maybe me) will start a new Monthly Submissions Thread.

Edit: If nobody has any objections, I would volunteer to take over the competitions.

I say go for it! The best service of the monthlies to the community is not picking winners & losers, but giving people like me the chance to see wonderful work that otherwise we might overlook.

I quote Blue Monkey's words. :goodjob:
