MOO2Civ

This mod is crashing. I am using patch4f Full Install with the 3.17 BtS Unofficial Patch 0.21 (Solver/Dresden). Is this mod not compatible with the unofficial patch? I don't seem to be having trouble with other mods.

MOO2Civ doesn't use any unofficial patches, but you might want to check if installation is as per instructions on the DL Page. (On my previous PC I had Solver's patch installed and the mod ran OK.)

I've been trying to open the

C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\MOO2Civ (Patchg)\Assets\XML\Art\CIV4ArtDefines_Unit.xml

but keep getting an error message, stating that XSL can't open the xml... On my previous PC I had no problems opening and editing xml files. Any suggestions will be welcome!

Personally I almost solely use UltraEdit for everything. Customizeable color coding for any file format without any annoyingly 'clever' help features that keeps popping up when you don't need them. ;)

Yo're welcome and God speed!

Thx, I'll check that out.

Is there a free editor I can download for this? (I'm currently using a Vista 32 bit operating system, which seems unable to open xml files...)

You should be able to open xml files with just about any normal text editor.
Anyway, atleast Notepad++ has no issues with XML-files.

Wow, the UltraEdit people sure got greedy in the most recent years! :(

I guess I wont be upgrading my aging version myself either - not at those those prices anyway. It is after all just a glorified text editor. ;)

Hm, I suppose it is. Anyway, as is I expect the next patch to be up in a couple of weeks.

Meanwhile, as mentioned, I've been trying my hand at a couple of games on Hard level. Here's some in-game screenshots:

- "Fortress culture failing" appears to be a Final Frontier bug, which resolves itself again the next turn

- I played the Psilons on a Huge FF Flatmap with Raging Barbs and Assimilation on

- I played the Humans with Raging Barbs off (hence the crowded map)

And we're at 4,600 downloads now.:D

As progress is slow on the next Full Install version, I reckon I'll post/upload a minor patch some time today or tomorrow (which later will be included in the Full Install ofcourse).

I realize I'm running late on the patch I announced, so I just wanted to say I'm planning to add deanej's Spiral Galaxy map, which I'm currently testing with MOO2Civ. As is I expect to upload Patchg some time next week.

Speaking of map scripts, when I used the flat map version of whatever the current map script is called it created an area on the edge of the map that was blocked off by impassable nebula and since the map didn't wrap at the edge, it was totally cut off from the game.

That's possible; a large nebula is a regular appearance with the FF Flat map - although I've never seen it in this form. (I suppose that's a - minor? - annoyance.)
