Santa Maria means Saint Mary, it's also a old expresion equivalent to "My God". The roman catholics like to swear to Saint Mary better than to God.
It's also one of the Colon's carabels La Pinta, La Niña y La Santa Maria.

Yeah, thanks for being Protestand, Goldy.

Don't you people watch Jeopardy?

Of cource. The difference being, you're just not funny.

The panzerfaust full preview, I have to prepare his mate animations. If someone wants a lonely panzerfaust soldier, request it.
Here it is, The death needs minor fixes:

I've added light effects but no smoke....

would you mind making some middle eastern infantry units, like Israeli Defense Forces, Syrian Army and Eqyptian Army? Lemme know and I'll provide pics...

Well, I really have no interest on Middle east armies, I prefer to do more popular units like zombies and wwII germans. If I plan to do more specifical (unpopular) units I'd like to do spanish civil war soldiers, like anarchist militia, republic soldier or rebel spanish legionary.

No, Here at spain everybody watch only TV series about spanish guerrilla killing frenchs (Curro Jimenez, for example)

Un saludo

A single guy would be better if only to keep it uncluttered.

wellt his looks quite promising!
What about making a wwII german zombie unit ;)

Nazi Zombies? sounds like someone plays a bit too much Wolfenstein.

Soldier Zombies would be a nice unit for my scenario - it has an armoury and a military base dying to be overrun by zombies. Alternatively, they could be Govt. enhanced zombie soldiers.

I'll add a victory and perhaps a shovel animation too, I'm still unable to add smoke. First I'll finish the single unit and then the two men unit, I really like the heavy german infantry idea.

As soon as this unit is finished I'll begin the zombies series, I hope I'll do it right, zombie animations must be very different from the modern soldier units I'm used to do.
First a normal zombie, a zombie with gun and then a nazi zombie!

You've uncovered me  ...

Damn, that Panzerfaust animation is good! :goodjob: Only comment I would make is that these weapons made a small, but smoky, flash out the front side with even more smoke out the exhaust side. But keep it subtle! Relatively speaking, they made very little flash overall and the warhead was not propelled by the "flash". Users were more afraid of giving away their location because of the smoke and dust.

So, to be 100% accurate the flash should be very short in duration and only visible at the end of the launch tube, it should not follow the warhead. Of course your artistic preference may decide otherwise! :)

EDIT: I knew I had a photo somewhere...

This night shot shows the flash at the instant the warhead is fired. Notice how it also travels out the rear of the tube. (You may have guessed I'm a bit of a fan of the Panzerfaust!)

Thanks for the photo, I want to add smoke effects at the rear and front of the tube, but I still don't know how to do that, I'm waiting for utahjazz response who offered his help in this issue. He got a real goodlooking rocket effect in his rocket unit

P.D. The victory animation is finished

@ Mosca - Nazi Zombies?!! Woooooooooo!!!! :woohoo:. As for the regular zombies, though, could you make the model a little more decayed (like the current zombie we have) and maybe.. get rid of the shoe? I'm sorry if that would ruin it (Seeing as how he's a "fresh zombie") but if you would do that, I could use him in my fantasy mod, as well, :).

Yeah, I know, but I was hoping that it might not be there to fit with the style of my mod. But what the hell. I'll use it anyway, all for the good of EFZI! (Plus, I can c'n'p it out later, :crazyeye:.) But does anyone think it needs to be more bloody/decayed?

We already have a fantasy unit maker... he's a Finn, not a Spaniard.

As God as my witness, I swear I'll never do a fantasy unit!!

Ah, so you're going to be modelling the Zombies on real-life ones, eh...?

Kinboat's smoke animation is actually not as complicated as it seems at first. I haven't used his images, but I used his technique to put a cloud into an animation (using my own images) and it worked very nicely, although it's a bit tedious to do. Looking at his images, it seems that you should just apply each one to both the colour map and the transparency map to the successive frames, and it ought to work nicely. Ought to...

About the zombie, yes, I hope I've expressed myself correctly, it's a joke about a quotation from Gone with the wind

Thanks, my main problem with the smoke effect is that I'm unable to set the color transparency for the bitmap, can you help me?
Un saludo

It's pretty easy. Just as you can click on the square under Diffuse Color and choose a bitmap, do exactly the same under Transparency, and choose the same bitmap. It should look as it does in this picture...
