Moscatnt. Unit creation and previews

It's pretty easy. Just as you can click on the square under Diffuse Color and choose a bitmap, do exactly the same under Transparency, and choose the same bitmap. It should look as it does in this picture...

Wow, thanks!! I've tested and I've noticed that I was very confused :crazyeye:... The smoke is easy to use once you know how, I'm very pleased. Thanks!
I'll post a prewview very soon.

Ah, so you're going to be modelling the Zombies on real-life ones, eh...?

He will probably model them after the zombies that we see in popular educational films and documentaries, such as Dawn of the Dead and Return of the Living Dead. (Some people are under the erroneous impression that these are works of fiction.):crazyeye:

Yes, a fatal error, the zombies are very organizated and dangerous people. I keep my larder full of brains in case a zombie paids me a visit. So, if you lack brains, go to the online store.:p

Here it's the preview:

I think it's very similar to this:

I'm very happy with the smoke and fire effects (thanks plotinus).

Recon1591 told me to do the ammo box in civ-color. The soldier have badges, shovel, bag and two trims with civ-specific color. I like the idea, but I also like militaristic color so I don't know what to do, what do you think?

Thanks for your feedback

After seeing it i think u guys are right.

It was just hard to see the civ color area's when he squated. thats why i asked about the ammo box idea.

Great job on the smoke effects.........since this is a german unit you can control the color of the ammo box by assigning certain colors to the german player. I guess it all depends how you feel about it I think either way is fine.

Glad to have helped!

The animation looks fantastic. You're clearly a natural when it comes to animating. I too prefer the box not civ-coloured. One thing, though: he doesn't put it down on the ground, it just appears there. Might it be possible to have him place it there during the Fortify animation?

Hey, Mosca, I was searching for an ork model and found some free WWII guns in 3ds max format. Thought you could use them (they're halfway down the page.)

Thanks, They look like good models for civ units, low polygons :king:

Thanks, the box presents continuity problem, at my first preview the soldier dropped the box at the Fortify and all worked fine. But at the Victory I had a problem, the Victory begins at Fortify and ends at Default and it wasn't possible for the soldier to take the box at the Victory so I choose to put the box on the ground at Default. The soldier only hold the box at Run, a less continuity animation. I'm unable to find a better solution...:(

Excellent! I just love it, love it, love it!

Shame about the jump when he drops the ammo box, but it only detracts a little, of course it would be nice if he could put the box down somehow. I would also agree the box looked better with camo colours. Maybe a couple of Civ Colour stripes on the box might work better?

Are you sure that the Victory begins from Fortify? I thought this at first, but then I watched the units in-game and it looks like Victory actually begins from Default.

I've just checked Infantry and Marine from Vanilla civ3 with Civ3Fledit and the victory began at Attack or Fortify (very similar) and finish at Default. It's logical cause the victory is after a battle, but I don't know why it finishes at default.

Thanks a lot, your photo has been very usefull. About the box, I'm going to keep it fieldgrey coloured, I'm rendering because I'd like to use it on the monthly competition. The panzerfaust it's a more complex unit than the afrikakorps.

It seems I am not the only one that wants more combat engineers wonderfull job on this newest unit are you planning on making any russians so these brave german units can defeat them?

So, is there anything else on the drawing board?:mischief:

Thanks a lot, it has been a hard unit to do. The Bakharma idea of adding a working animation was great, and now I can add working animations very easyly.

My next project is the Romeros' zombies, I have a compromise with EFZI and I don't want to delay the unit, and it would be a different kind of unit (they're not nazis!!! :p ).
Then I plan to do a BAR american soldier, a Ppsh russian soldier and my brother has modelled a russian Maxim (with wheels and frame) for me so...
All this units could be used in my wolfenstein mod idea.
RL is very near but I'll try to do all that projects.
