For me it is the spearman in civ 3.

The spearman is something like a legend because of :spear:
And it's the first unit i ever built in civ.

I have only played civ call to power 2 and civ 4.

So the unit must be from civ 2 since it is the game that i have spent most time on.

I could have chosen the warrior because everytime you play you will always meet the warrior.

But i dont want to be boring. So i think the red walker robot you get in the end of the game deserves the title.
The robot simply brought all military units from an era into one and increased the strength. Der uber unit it was.

I never used to build Warriors cos they were too weak. Strange Hu?

Mine is the Spearman or the Modern Armour as I like the MA as I apways get the tech b4 any1 else and the Spearman because it saves me many times in the Ancient Times!

Berzerker from civ3 (I think that's the name, the guy with the huge axe). Just looked really kick a**.

The nuclear missile.

When I first got into the series with CivII, the first game I played, I didn't do much beyond building a few cities and some improvements here or there, without really knowing what those improvements did. I was pre-occupied with going straight for Nukes, and I was quite gratified when I built my first nuke and leveled a French city with it. I wound up building several more and using them. Then the polar icecaps melted and all my cities became swamped(literally).

It was afterwards that I seriously attempted to play the game.

Yeah, those warwalkers are fun as hell, but CTP is not really an official entry in the series. More like any number of step-child games.

But the most memorable, had to be the civ1 settler. I loved the covered wagon. I even got a framed pic of a covered wagon because of it. First unit I saw in the game. Everything else comes after.

Partisans.

In Civ2 my attacking armies were lots of howitzers, a few MechInf, and spies. When I'd take a city, I'd just start buying up the partisans, and move on.

Civ1 ARMORS.

We all remember the first time we set sights on them while our civilizations were still using spears.

Howitzers were like the biggest reason civ 2 got boring pretty fast.

With the ability to move along your enemys railroad system, you just had to build shitloads of howitzers and then move them up to computer towns, attack once and withdraw to safety using the second movement point.

And eventually they'd be out of units.

Same thing every game.

the civ2 cav... their attacking sound is the hymn of world domination.

Agreed. In fact, I completed a conquest victory once with that unit delivering the final attack.

Would SMAC count as a "Civ game"? If so, I'd say Gravship Formers and Needlejet Colony Pods (I was VERY impatient when it came to unit move speeds :crazyeye: )

If it doesn't count, I'd say Civ 2's Dragoons. Civ 2 was one of just two games I've ever played with Dragoons in them (and the other one portrayed "Dragoons" as robotic yellow spiders with shields and energy cannons ;) )

If SMAC, Mind Worms in general and Locusts of Chiron in particular. Otherwise, I don't know. Probably either the Elephant from Civ2 (for some reason, I remember it) or the Longbowman from Civ4 (memorable for saving me from barbarian domination more than once).

Civ 1 battleship killer Phalanxes. I can still imagine them throwing their spears 1000 meters to ocean sinking my ships. It was so frustrating.
