Hello everybody. I dont know alot of motherboards. Im the runing computer guy. So what is the best motherboard I can get for under $100? with a chip less then 50? that uses DDR ram.

Its for my 2nd cpu so I can play civ with my friends.... Till they wrecked it.:( and my new motherboard w/ stuff didnt work

Go to www.pricewatch.com and look it up under the motherboard+CPU combos. For example, you can get an Athlon XP 2400 with cpu and fan for around $82.00 (that is both motherboard and CPU for less than a hundred;))

A bit of warning: Also be sure that your power supply and old case can be able to support it.

...and if you're a gamer, then i'd advise getting one with an 8x AGP slot, as the newer graphics cards (will) support/need this... For actual models, i'm useless. Sorry.

Edit: This post was pretty much useless then

Dont worry I know all the computer stuff, just wanted to know where to get a good deal. Moonsinger ill do that, thanks.

Gainy this isnt MY computer its a cpu so my friends can play. I dont want it really good. Just so we can play. Ive got a Gforce 2 to spare for em :) I said it was supposed to suck. atleast they get 512 ram. Other then that pos. Me I got a Geforce 4mx440 1gb ram. 60gb hard drive(was full) althon cpu(forgot wich) and other nifties.

Moonsinger is right on, pricewatch.com rocks! :goodjob:

www.newegg.com if you are buying in the US. They have good prices, good cust service, and don;t over charge you on shipping (a lot of their stuff is with free shipping and is still close in price to pricewatch.com sites).

If you already have the CPU, then make sure you get a motherboard that it will work in.

i have an ASUS MB which has gone pretty well, so i can recommend that brand.

one the cpu is prob bad also so this is a all new motherboard/cpu
