The Catalunya finish was the best I've seen in a long time...

Link to video.

The last 4 or 5 laps were like this...

Video link updated to one that works. Watch it before it's too late!

That is true. However they were nose-to-tail for much longer than that. Rossi got ahead even earlier in the race, but Lorenzo repassed him and pulled a bit ahead during the middle of the race. Then with about 5 laps to go, Rossi caught back up and they were essentially nose-to-tail the rest of the way. And a number oif passes occurred during the last 3 laps. Too bad the video isn't a bit longer was really my point...

O momma Mia!

He will never live that down!

BTW, this just goes to show how little motorcycle racing is covered in the US. I don't think even Speed Report mentioned it, which is the weekly motor racing wrap up show on Speed TV...

My local paper mentions both, although not near as much as the major sports. They always have the starting grids and the finishing orders for at least the major races of both sanctioning bodies, and there is usually at least some coverage for every Sprint race on Monday.

But Indycar also has a race every year in St Pete, and Dan Weldon is a resident. They certainly don't cover motorcycle racing, much less international motorcycle racing. And, of course, they covered Helio's his tax evasion case as well as his appearance on Dancing with the Stars.

So folks, how do you see Pedrosa's future? Is he out of the race, or could he bounce back?

I think he could close the gap with the three (!) leaders, but not really be a contender: he is just growing too slowly, while Stoner and Lorenzo respectively have and are improving by leaps and bounds. This year's Honda just won't allow him the edge to race as he does best, that is, defending a certain advantage, and the triumvirate is going to fight one race after the other.

He's going to need a lot of podiums and no more bad race weekends to catch back up, which seems doubtful at this stage.

Stoner pwns.

Another race, another victory (#100!!) for Rossi. Not the best race this season for sure, with only Lorenzo capable to keep pace. Stoner is well behind, and still does better than both Keystone, er Honda riders.

100 victories is amazing. At least Nicky Hayden made some progress for a change until his handlebar came loose.

I think we should also use this thread to congratulate Spies for his authoritative showing at Donington. Haga better wake up fast, considering that in Race 1 he couldn't keep pace (is anything known about the gravity of his injuries in race 2?)

Noooo!!!! I haven't watched that yet....

Hee hee, sorry . I was bikeless this weekend, so I stayed home and watched it all. Next time I'll remember to use the spoiler button...

Or just use the other thread. I didn't read your post about Rossi's win in this thread until after I watched the MotoGP race, which was only telecast in the US late yesterday night.

But that is indeed great news. Go Spies! The kid certainly appears to be the real deal!

I'm watching the practice right now, and

Spoiler :
both Lorenzo and Stoner fell two minutes from the end! Both were taken out on a stretcher.
