I think movement on mountains should take 2 or even 3 moves, if it's possible to implement. Anyone else ?

Yea it should be possible to give it movementcost 6 and have those units with flat movement "only" have -3 movement cost.

I think that they should take damage each turn in a mountain. Mountains are not easy to traverse, and they take a huge physical toll on the person travelling them.

I don't think it should be a lot...maybe 5% per turn, but it seems to make sense to me. Moving on mountains is a huge advantage when there are minimal creatures that can do so, and it shouldn't be so easy.

give mountains two move, like hills and give +75% defense?

If they plan on doing that, rivwers should be made more realistic: huge things that slow movement down by at least a turn. remember, a river is Huge!!!

do rivers slow things down or make them faster?

If rivers are within your border, then river travel (ie travelling up or down river) would be faster than walking/riding....

This is simulated in sharing resources between cities, seems strange that it works the other way for moving...

In medieval times, boats were the preferred way of moving goods.... that is why so many canals were built (upto the advent of railroads) - was quicker & faster to move things that way than by road.

It was true on the coast as well. Boats would hop their way along the coast carrying goods/people - should imply that moving friendly units along any water course/border should be faster than normal movement....

.... now... back to the mountains!
